Selling Yearbook Ads
Please dress professionally when selling ads . . . nice pants and a nice shirt is preferred. You want to
portray yourself as a business professional.
Sample Script for Ad Sales
Hello. My name is _______ ___________ and I am a member of the Ooltewah Middle School yearbook
staff. Could I please speak to the person in charge of advertising?
(Speaking with person in charge of advertising)
Hello. My name is _______ ___________ and I am a member of the Ooltewah Middle School yearbook
staff. We would appreciate your support of our school by purchasing some ad space in our yearbook for
the 2014-2015 year. I would like to ask you to place an ad in our yearbook. This year we are asking that
you become a Page Sponsor. We will place your company’s name and phone number or email at the
bottom of a regular yearbook page where students are more likely to look, rather than in an advertising
section in the back of the yearbook. The cost is $25/page or $35/spread. A spread is 2 pages. Your
sponsorship is going to help us purchase a digital camera and other supplies for our staff.
Would you like to be a page sponsor and help us purchase a camera for our yearbook?
(If Yes) Thank you so much. Could you please help me complete the Ad Order Form? Thank you.
To keep down our costs, would it be possible for you to pay me now or is there a time that I could return
to pick up a check? Thank you so much for supporting our middle school and the OMS Yearbook staff.
We will send a proof of your ad for approval.
(If No) I understand. Thank you very much for your time.
Incentives and Requirements
You must sell a minimum of 2 ads by December 12th. That gives you 4 weeks! If a business declines to be
a Page Sponsor, be sure to try another business.
Without these ads we will not be able to afford cameras to use next semester.
The first 2 staff members to sell 2 Page Sponsorships and turn them in to Mrs. Oliver will receive an
iTunes gift card or gift card of their choice!
Ooltewah Middle School Ad Order Form
Advertising space in the 2014-2015 OMS Yearbook is available to
all members of our community, especially businesses. Sponsoring a
page in our yearbook is a great way to show your support for OMS and
advertise your local business! Over 350 color copies of the OMS
Yearbook will be circulated, so get your message out there and support
Ooltewah Middle School!
