Course Description:
In Principles of Business, Marketing, and Finance, students gain knowledge and skills in
economies and private enterprise systems, the impact of global business, marketing of goods and
services, advertising, and product pricing. Students analyze the sales process and financial
management principles. This course allows students to reinforce, apply, and transfer academic
knowledge and skills to a variety of interesting and relevant activities, problems and settings in
business, marketing, and finance.

Each student is expected to attend class everyday, arrive prepared with required materials,
participate in class activities, review materials introduced and complete all homework
assignments to reinforce activities covered in class.
Instruction will be delivered using various learning styles.
Students will work with independent activities or with their peers in groups of two to four
students after being introduced to subject matter.
The students will be assessed using multiple tools, namely, written, oral, and visual.

enterprise system and the United States economy.

Classifies types of businesses that market goods and services.
Analyzes cost and profit relationships in finance.
Analyzes the sale process, techniques used to enhance customer relationships, and the
likelihood of making sales.
Demonstrates how to advertise to communicate promotional messages to targeted
audiences.
How to increase sales by employing visual merchandising techniques and using special
events to increase sales.
Understands the fundamental principles of money.

NO COMPUTER GAMES, FACEBOOK OR TWITTER during class at any time.
Copying of work will result in a zero for those individuals involved
Listen and follow directions the first time they are given
Use appropriate language-no profanity
Students must be in dress code at all times
All school rules will be strictly enforced
Absolutely no gum, food, candy, or drinks allowed in lab.
No outside disks, pen drives, CD’s, MP3 players or headphones maybe used.
Students must be in chairs when the tardy bell rings.
Students to remain in their seats until I dismiss you after the bell has rung
Tardy Policy: The HHS tardy policy will be strictly enforced. When the tardy bell rings all
students should be in the classroom, ready to begin.
Make-up Work and Late Work: It is the student’s responsibility to ask for missed assignments
and make arrangements with the teacher to make up any daily work or exams. If you are tardy,
absent, or suspended, you are responsible for all assignments missed.
Course Grades: Six weeks grade: Daily (Formative) Grades = 40% Test/Project (Summative)
Grades = 60%
