STRATEGIC PLANNING 2010-2015
Evaluation of the previous strategic plan
showed that the priorities have to be
more specific and more realistic.
Process of strategic planning:
•Evaluation of the recent strategic plan in the National office,
brainstorming and SWOT analysis on the current situation in
Scouting Slovakia
•The draft of the new strategic plan was created and sent to the delegates
of the general assembly in advance
•The SP draft was presented on GA, discussed and annotated in
Discussion groups according to the topics
Zahraničná rada
•
The coordinators for every chapter have been chosen, who
adapted the annotations and comments of the GA
•
The Strategic Plan 2010-2014 was accepted by the National
Board. A coordinator and a deputy coordinator have been chosen
to mentor the fullfillment of goals.
•
Action plans for every chapter have been created by coordinators
STRATEGIC PLAN 2010-2015
AREAS OF STRATEGIC PLAN:
•Young and dynamic organization
•Education a step further
•Stable and transparent funding
•The program runs for life
•Effectively to the strong and stable organization
The ongoing evaluation of the Strategic Plan:
1st term: on 31/05 of current year
2nd term: on 30/11 of current year
The ongoing evaluation gives the opportunity to replace the main
coordinator, or coordinators of individual priorities respectively.
The reasons for this could be for example: due to inactivity, poor results.
Final evaluation of the Strategic Plan:
Autumn 2014
YOUNG AND DYNAMIC ORGANISATION
Only an organization that presents its activities
is known to the public. Therefore, in the following
years we aim to transmit positive signals about our
organization towards the public.
Likewise, the organization can be successful
only if the system of internal communications
will work.
Therefore, let us try to ensure that all branches will be able to
communicate with each other and „pull the rope together“.
Objectives:
• present Slovak Scouting as a young and dynamic organization
• creating an attractive image of scouting and protecting its reputation
• communicate effectively - internally and externally
• continually work to develop the organization
EDUCATION A STEP FURTHER
Volunteers are a valuable resource for the organization. It should be
not forgotten that these people are not only "sources" from which we
can only take. High goals are expected from them, so they need
support on their way. One of the best investments is the education,
which provides not only knowledge but also motivation for future
work.
Objectives:
• quality education
• tailored trainings
• care for volunteers
STABLE AND TRANSPARENT FINANCES
Money is only a necessary means of action, not an aim. Although they
are necessary for our operation, we need to focus more on activities
and building of good reputation and credit for our organization.
At the same time we have to realize that money is to find easiest by
more efficient spending on all levels of our organization.
Objectives:
• effectiveness
• transparency
• independence
EFFICIENTLY TO STRONG AND STABLE ORGANIZATION
In areas of efficiency of management we have in the past years focused
on the national level. In the coming years we have to focus collectively
on more effective management at the level of scout regions and
groups. With good organizational management we jointly build the
reputation of the organization and increase its credit to the public.
Objectives:
• improve the work with the human
resources at all levels of the
organization
• effective organization
• introduce more efficient processes
to the activities of the organization
PROGRAM GETTING BETTER
The most important program we have done already, an educational
program for all age groups is already in use. In this term will be our task
to make the first review of cub scout program and to adjust the scout
program where it is necessary. In rover program we must look for new
forms of rover participation, support active service and support of
young leaders. We want to expand and improve the forms of support
and communication with leaders, to focus on safety and quality.
Objectives:
• review and recovery education program
• a varied, interesting and safe program
• annual program well-prepared campaign and major events
Example of detailed description of „Action steps“ for a priority
PROGRAM GETTING BETTER

Only through an interesting and attractive program, we can attract new
members into the organization. Therefore, let us try to make it more
attractive educational program.
