Working in partnership with local schools, and supported by the National Lottery, the Mullany Fund has developed an innovative electronic mentoring service that connects disadvantaged young people interested in medical and healthcare careers with medical professionals via a secure online space, helping them aspire to and achieve meaningful careers. The E-mentoring Project Assistant is a new role and will help to support, maintain and deliver a high quality E-mentoring programme within state secondary schools in Neath Port Talbot and the City and County of Swansea. The project focuses on pupils between the ages of 14 and 18 (school years 9 to 13) to increase their awareness of the educational routes to access medical and healthcare occupations. The pupils are supported to achieve higher grades in their studies, to improve their chance of being successful in the application process, and increase their confidence and communication skills to pursue a career of their choice. The post of E-mentoring Project Assistant is essential for supporting the efficient running of the project including undertaking rigorous monitoring and evaluation processes with respect to the targeted project outcomes. This post involves remotely working with young people under the age of 18, and the post holder is required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The Ementoring Project Assistant will contribute in monitoring, evaluating and updating the Brightside Ementoring platform in a timely and well organised manner. The post holder will be required to: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key support organisations. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with beneficiary state secondary schools. Assist with the preparation of progress reports to include key performance statistics and qualitative evidence of mentor and mentee engagement for the Board of Trustees and other external organisations as appropriate. Be a named point of contact for certain designated tasks or provider of appropriate advice for specific enquiries. Ensure mentees and mentors are correctly enrolled onto the e-mentoring platform. Monitor mentoring activity to ensure good levels of engagement throughout the duration of the project. Monitor mentoring correspondence and respond appropriately to any security alerts. Contribute to the evaluation of the scheme, including gathering and collating data for analysis and comparison to the proposed project outcomes as defined by the charity’s National Lottery’s People and Places Programme Funding Application. To assist in researching funding opportunities and sustainability strategies for the project. To assist in preparation of funding applications. To carry out responsibilities with due regard to the charity’s Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety Policies To undertake such other duties commensurate with the grade as may be reasonably expected by the E-mentoring Project Manager and/or the Board of Trustees. Working Environment Contributing to the safeguarding of the participants in the E-mentoring project , in reference to health and safety , and child protection issues Required to prioritise competing demands to organise, prioritise and manage own Communication & Networking To liaise with project partners Brightside UNIAID on the development and delivery of the ementoring service To liaise with teachers in targeted schools to discuss the planning and implementation of ementoring activities To report all press requests and PR opportunities to Project Manager who will pass on the information to the charity Press Officer to ensure appropriate and effective promotion of the project.
