2012 Wellness program evaluation:
Did well: 10,000 steps a day challenge, Fruit of the month prize, Fitbit, Herb Garden
Do better: improve communication, Herb Garden- could have benefited from follow up instructions,
feedback to how the garden was growing, garden care, Delegate “Next Steps” and timeline, Onsite
Wellness coach for each facility, Commuter discounts

2013 Wellness Budget:
Completion of Biometric screenings- Sam Christensen, Audrey Chapo, Linda Walck
Platinum $100 seed money for HAS accounts& Gold program $100 towards Benefit costs. Eligible
participants are FT employees on RV Cigna Health Plan.
“Do you know your numbers?” rollout with Biometrics Screening, set up wellness seminar for Weds.
April 3 & Thursday, April 4 at 4PM EST. Rebecca will check with Cigna to see if seminars can be
separated into 2, 30 minute programs for direct patient care staff participation.
Develop a project plan for communication of timelines for screenings, keep it “All about You”,
Confidential data, Know Your Numbers – WebEx Seminar, Why we are gathering data, to reduce costs to
our employees. Instructions on how to complete Screening, how to enter data into MYCIGNA.COM.
Make an appt with your Primary Care Physician to complete testing and enter results prior to June 1, 13.
Complete Health Assessment on MYCIGNA.com.
If not enrolled in RVM Benefits, contact your insurance provider for information of Biometric screening.
Table Tents for ea facility. Communication to CC’s to promote employee participation. Communicate to
officers, directors, CCs.
Email, Posters, mail to eligible participants home address.
Timeline- complete biometric screening by June 1st, 2013.
1st draft completed by March 4th. Review on Wellness call Friday, March 15th at 3PM EST.
 Check with Cigna to see if they have posters for Biometric Screenings.
 Project calls q 2 weeks until Biometric Screening is completed.
Budget $325 x 2 calls = $650.
 Communicate to RVMALL on March 18th to kick off program.
Wellness Seminars- Donna Abline & Amy Fox: NEED TIMELINES OF CC/RD response needed
6 Regions: No. Jersey/So.Jersey/Dallas/Beaumont/Corporate/Rural
Budget $325 per session x 21 sessions + 5 free sessions. Or change to 1 session per region for 2013 plan
year. New budget $325 x 6 = $1950 total
Will not reimburse employee travel to attend sessions.
 Rebecca will check if Cigna will provide education in 2 - 30 minute sessions vs. 1 hour session
 CC chose 1 seminar that they would like for their clinic.

Proposed stationary pedaling challenge. Electronic tracking of total miles per device, raffle the device off
to patients after program complete.

Committee would like to see activity as a symbol of wellness, suggested adding a running man figure to
the logo, try the logo with a large runner and a smaller apple or the outline of the apple.

Committee member responsibilities:
 Work with your project partners to stay on target with action steps.
 Update Groupsite profile with your photo by March 15th.
 All members need to set notifications at q 1 week by March 15
 All members need to communicate if they are falling behind target, if they need additional
support, and must notify the group if they cannot attend the scheduled call.
 All action steps need to be completed and updated on groupsite regardless of whether you can
attend the call or not.
 Send agenda items to the Groupsite by the Wednesday prior to the monthly call.
 Read groupsite notifications and comment that you have read it and any comments to show
active participation in the site.
Wellness Coach at each location:
We are looking for energetic individuals to take on the wellness Coach role at each location.
Responsibilities include updating the wellness bulletin board, document progress of employees
participating in wellness programs, read emails from Wellness Committee, and follow up on action
steps, attend a 30 minute call for each rollout.
Benefits for the Wellness Coach- Recognition for team work, promoting the RV Difference culture,
T shirt “coach”, gain experience of reporting at staff meetings, energizing participation in wellness
programs
Rollout Health Coach Role on May 1st.
 Call with CC’s to rollout the wellness programs, and the Wellness coach before/on April 12th.
 Create email distribution list for RVMWellnessCOACH@renalventures.com
