Learners will develop an understanding of the water cycle. Students will be able to recognize and explain the essential elements of the water cycle. Students will learn that water evaporates from the oceans, lakes, rivers, and land surface, rises and cools as it moves higher, condenses to become rain or snow, and falls to the surface again where it collects in lakes, oceans, soil, and underground. Students will learn that water covers the majority of the earth's surface. Students will learn the processes of evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and accumulation. Materials: Paper Pencils Markers/crayons Water Cycle diagram Word Search Poster Board Important things to know: The Tic-Tac-Toe menu game is played like the original game (get three in a row = WIN!). The skit is to be limited to 6 minutes to create and no longer than 3 minutes to act out. The song creation will be limited to a few lyrics with a main chorus. This menu could also be beneficial to do for center time. Time allotted: The students will be given at least 2- 2.5 weeks to complete the Tic-Tac-Toe menu. Three in a row should be completed each time they begin the menu. Some of the activities are more time consuming than others, so more time should be allowed for completion.
