Spanish 1 - AP GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Spanish I Increase vocabulary about: Greetings, likes and dislikes, school schedule, foods, leisure activities, family, clothing and shopping, and travel Add to grammar: Learn the present tense, subject/verb agreement, adjectives, asking questions GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Spanish II • Add to vocabulary about: School & free time, health, daily routines, shopping, household chores, childhood, special events, travel and food • Add to grammar: Review present tense, use of pronouns, question words, etc, from level 1 Reflexive verbs, 2 past tenses, 2 progressives, and commands GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Spanish III • Add to vocabulary about: Travel, art, health, teenage life, plans for the future, professions, the community, nature, the environment, politics, and the history of Spain • Add to grammar: – Review present and past tense – Perfect tenses – Future/conditional tenses – Subjunctive (present/past) mood GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Spanish IV Prepare students to go onto AP by increasing their fluency ability through vocabulary and grammar. • Increase vocabulary about: Fashion, cars, environmental problems, professions of the future, human rights, personal characteristics, entertainment, equal rights, diversity, healthy eating • Add to Grammar: – Review of the 7 simple tenses: present, preterit, imperfect, future, conditional, present/past subjunctive – Review and learn the 7 compound tenses – Other grammatical structures such as direct/indirect object pronouns and the personal “a” • We will review geography of the Spanish speaking world in order to gain a deeper understanding about the famous people we will learn about throughout the year. GOALS FOR THE YEAR: Spanish AP • Increase vocabulary about: The Home and the Family, Immigration, Food, Health and The Human Body, The Environment and Nature, Travel, Art, Music, Sports, Education, Professions, Physical and Personality Characteristics, and Politics. • Review grammar: – Review all tenses and grammar learned in Spanish I – IV – Fine tune language structure for accuracy and fluency • Increase an appreciation for, and understanding of, Spanish and Hispanic cultures through literature, current events, etc. • Increase listening and reading comprehension • Improve writing and speaking skills • Do well on the AP Exam!
