Climate
• North Carolina is a damp, sandy,
and swampy state.
• It was warm, which meant it had
a long growing season. In the
winter, it was bitterly cold.
• North Carolina also had few
harbors, and was not good for
farming. It grew more slowly than
the south.
• Daytime highs often average over
90 °F in the summer.
• North Carolina is in the Northern
& Western Hemisphere.
• Georgia, South Carolina,
Tennessee, and Virginia border
