What’s a Prescription? • Far clauses are required (prescribed) by law or regulation • The FAR section that controls the use of or requirement for a clause or provision is the “prescription” for it • The prescription for a clause that is Optional or “as required” shall be reviewed by the C.O. to determine if it should be included in the contract Deviations • Approved deviations to clauses may be used in lieu of the FAR clause • Deviations will be titled as: – 52.2xx-x Title Date (Deviation) • Deviations shall be in full text and include prescription for their use.
