returned home, finds his home ransacked
and suitors trying to woo Penelope.

Antinous, planned the failed MURDER of
Telemachus.
Characters
Telemachus-son of Odysseus, helps
father in fight against suitors, was
searching for father after the Trojan War.
 Penelope-Odysseus’ wife, faithful to him,
doesn’t believe he is dead.

Conflict



The conflict in Odysseus’ Revenge is that he
wants to get rid of all the suitors trying to
court his wife, but the only way to get rid of
them, is to kill them, which is something that
Odysseus does not want to have to do, but
ends up doing in the end.
Internal conflict is Odysseus does not want
to commit murder, but that is his only
choice.
External conflict is these suitors are all
trying to court his wife.
 Odysseus
Motivation: To get
back home to his family. Also to
get rid of all of the suitors
courting his wife, Penelope.
Motivation
The
theme was if one man is
going to steal another mans
stuff, that man will kill you.
This theme is like the old
saying an eye for an eye (
Hammurabi’s Code), except
taken a little too
extreme(Death for robbery).
Lessons Learned…
 Never assume anything. The suitors
assumed Odysseus was dead. That did not
turn out very well for them.
 Always keep trying. Odysseus never gave up,
and eventually made it all the way back
home.
 Be brave. Odysseus ended up killing the
suitors, even though he didn’t want to. He
stood up to the suitors. That took bravery.
