Bible Memory Program Grades 1-6 Bible memory is an integral part of our program here at Bearspaw Christian School. As Christians, it is important that we read and meditate on the Word of God, and commit it to memory. This helps us to conform our minds and thought patterns to God’s way of viewing our world. We want our students to begin to remember scripture and to apply it to their daily lives. The criteria for Bible Memory is as follows: 1. Students will be expected to memorize one verse every two weeks. Students will receive a 5 for no mistakes and saying the verse on the day it is due; a 4.5 for one mistake/prompt; a 4 for two mistakes/prompts; a 3.5 for three mistakes/prompts. If students need more than three prompts or make more than three mistakes, students will be asked to practice the verse and say it again the following week with the highest possible mark being a 4. 2. Students will be expected to recite back ten of the verses they have learned during the month of May. 3. If students have an average of 80% of their weekly Bible Memory verses AND have recited back ten verses in May, they are eligible to receive an award. Grade 4 Expectations: Please note that your child will be writing their Bible Memory Verse down by memory on the due date in Grade 4. Without help, they need to complete the verse and a 3-5 sentence reflection about how the verse applies to their lives. The verses will be implemented a lot in chapels and devotions, so by the time the due date comes, students should have a lot to reflect and write about.
