IXL and Summer Math Work – Pre-Calculus
In order to fulfill your summer math packet requirements, you must successfully complete a
set of each of the following assigned topics online using the incredible educational website,
www.IXL.com
IXL provides significant opportunities for you to practice the math concepts taught throughout
the school year. Additionally, if you answer a problem incorrectly, IXL will provide you with
step by step instructions on how to solve that problem so that you can correct your mistake.
Your job this summer is to complete all of the topics listed on the following sheet. In order to
complete a topic, you must earn a “Smart Score” of 100 or work for 30 minutes (whichever
comes first).
Once you have received your login information from Commonwealth Academy, you may
follow the instructions below to begin your work.
1. Visit: http://ixl.com
2. Enter your login information and password (this was sent to your Commonwealth
Academy email account).
3. In the search bar, type in the entire title of the topic (i.e.“ L.13 Solve Radical Equations”)
4. Choose the topic from the drop down menu (make sure it says “Algebra 2”)
5. Begin your work.
6. Work until you have a “Smart Score” of 100 or you’ve practice for 30 minutes.
All summer work should be completed between June 19, 2015 and September 2, 2015. There
are several suggested schedules to help you think about the best way for you to complete the
summer work.
