2.3 Li: To know how to structure unit assessment answers To plan/write a draft answer for the FIP unit assessment workbook Factors impacting on Performance Unit 2.3 You must record and monitor your progress during your performance development sessions Your answer must... Identify WHAT method you used to monitor performance development Provide 3 progressive examples of HOW you monitored your performance development. For example, your training diary needs to include: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Session targets How you felt before/during/after Heart rate inside Training Zone How you found the session (Easy-Hard) How you performed in the session Highlight any adaptations through progressive overload Explain WHY you used a training diary Week 1, Session 1:26.08.13 To monitor my training programme for performance development of the 800m, I used a training diary. I did this because it would give details on my progress and the effectiveness of my training programme. My short term target for this session was to take 2 seconds off my PB (3:04 minutes). It is important to set short term targets as it keeps me focused on my training. Before the start of my training I felt confident I could follow out the task and achieve my target set for the end of the week. During the session I felt the training was challenging but I managed and done better than what I had anticipated. Week 2, Session 1:02.09.13 On this day for my training programme for performance development of the 800m. My short term target was to take 2 seconds off my PB (3:02 minutes). I was a little nervous about today’s training programme as I had thought that it would be a hard challenge. By the end of the session I was tired and exhausted but I managed to complete it. At the end of the session I had a sense of achievement as I managed to take 2 seconds off my PB (3:00 minutes). Week 3, Session 1:03.09.13 This was in my opinion my best day for my performance development of the 800m. My short term target was to take a final 2 seconds off my PB (3:00 minutes). I felt motivated to take this time off my target as I didn’t have long left of my training programme. I was eager to get started as I really wanted to reduce my time. By the end of my session I retested my 800m time and had successfully taken off 3 secs from my PB (2:57 minutes). Factors impacting on Performance Now it’s your turn to write an answer… Remember!
