Global Market Expansion Presentation – PEST analysis
Partners or Individual
Presentation should be at least 10 minutes long
Conversation Due Date: Wednesday October 21st
Presentation Due Date: Friday October 23rd
You can choose any country and product that you would like. BUT I don’t want any
repeats so first come first serve.
As a successful company you are planning to sell your product into a new country.
The only problem is, you aren’t familiar with that countries policies, culture, and
social issues.
You will be completed a P.E.S.T. analysis on your country to ensure that your
product and country are a good fit.
The Task
- complete a P.E.S.T. analysis.
o Research the Politics, Economics, Social/Cultural, and Technological
factors that might influence (positively or negatively) your business
and product.
- Summarize your research under the headings Advantages and
Disadvantages for each P.E.S.T.
- Explain how the information that you found will influence the selling of your
product
- Explain how you would overcome the disadvantages in your country
- Explain how you would use the advantages to better your company.
- You need to find 2 current news articles (the last month) about events
happening in your country to support your P.E.S.T. analysis.
- Explain the global strategies (e.g. localization) that you might use to sell
your product more effectively.
- Present your findings.
- Lastly, create an annotated bibliography for your research. You must use
at least 3 credible sources.
***** Don’t forget to use IN-TEXT citations and a WORKS CITED page.*****
What is an annotated bibliography you ask?
Requirements of an Annotated Bibliography:
For each source you use you must complete the following
- 2 sentences on what you learned using this website
- 2 sentences on why you thought it was a good website
E.g.
McIvor, S. D. (1995). Aboriginal women's rights as "existing rights." Canadian Woman
Studies/Les Cahiers de la Femme 2/3, 34-38.
From this article I learned about the role of aboriginal women in the 1980’s. I also
learned about the changes made to the Indian Act in 1983. This article is a good source
because it was written by a professor from a university. It has also been published in
online journals.
Suggested websites to help get you started:
- Your countries government website
- Travel and tourism websites on your country
- Local newspapers in your country
- EBSCO
Suggested search terms
- regulations for businesses in _________
- companies expanding into ___________
- Selling _________ in ___________
