Objectives of constructing the system
1. To support for aquaculture farmers
2. To provide information, data to the government and
policy makers
3. To transfer, store, manipulate, analyze, and report data.
4. To be based for issuing certificates of environment
sustainable and food safety.
5. To support others economic sectors involving in
aquaculture business.
6. To provide data to legislative body to construct
environmental protection legal framework and protect
the aquaculture farmers rights.
Reasons to build
• Based on requirement of aquaculture and
fisheries sectors (MARD, former MOFI).
• Based on the results have been done by
RIA1,2,3, RIMF, NAFIQAVED, FSPS1.
• Based on new technologies of database
management and Web.
Works have been done (1)
• Cooperated with others institutions in
building the system: RIA1, RIA2, RIA3,
RIMF, NAFIQAVED.
• Developed database and information
management software at:
http://eds.mofi.gov.vn
Works have been done (2)
• Input and stored monitoring data of water
quality, disease and warning news, reports
from : RIA1, RIA2, RIA3, RIMF,
NAFIQAVED.
• Developed modules: report, chart drawing,
calculate biodiversity index from the
database.
• Developed support tools for users: list of
disease, news, download…
Works have been done (3)
• Completed Web-GIS map at:
http://eds.mofi.gov.vn/map update information of
all monitoring sites over the country. Retrieve
information and data via map interface.
• Automatic Warning Module: working well on
each input parameter.
Works have been done (4)
• Complete setup packet for EDS Map for
desktop, and EDS Map for PDA
• Complete user manual for Web, Desktop, and
PDA.
• Developed tool to measure length, area for WebGIS

• Developing SMS module (Plan to complete on
June 2008)
• Developing Automatic Warning Module based on
Experts Knowledge (application of Fuzzy logic)
(Plan to complete in August 2008)
• Improving the cooperation between RIAs, RIMF,
NAFIQAVED, Provinces, and other related
organizations.
Works on progress…(2)
• Seeking budget to maintain the system, widen
the information network (DoF, aquaculture
companies, farmers…)
• Getting warning reports on public Media, such
as: VTV, VOV…
• Improving and adding more features and
capacity to the software
