John 3:33 God is True John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. In John 8:26 Jesus Said: He who sent Me is true; John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. In John 17:17 Jesus said: Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. Sanctified: To be set apart for God’s purpose. It is our obedience to God’s Word that sets us apart from the world system Christians Walk in Truth I John 2:3-5: Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him Ephesians 5:9 for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth, John 15:26 Christians are indwelt by the Spirit of Truth John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; Christians Are Not To Enter Into Spiritual Enterprises with False Teachers Proclaiming False Doctrine 2 John 9-11 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds. 2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? Where Does Non-Truth Come From? John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. Jesus Said That False Teachers and False Prophets Will Greatly Increase Before His Return Matthew 24:3, 4, 11, 23-24 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ 6 and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. I John 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. How Can You Identify A False Prophet or False teacher? 1. False teachers will look and sound like Christians. 2. False teachers will produce fruit and doctrine that is anti-christ, anti-biblical. Mathew 7:15-18 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 3. False teachers likes titles such as prophet, apostle, prophetess, reverend, etc. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 4. False teachers denies the deity of Jesus Christ. A False Teacher Denies The Deity of Jesus Christ 2 John 7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. John 5:23 He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. I John 2:22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 5. False teachers will have a form of godliness but deny God. 2 Timothy 3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6. A false teacher will proclaim a false Jesus and a false gospel. 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it! 1. False teachers will look and sound like Christians. 2. False teachers will produce fruit and doctrine that is anti-christ, anti-biblical. 3. False teachers likes titles such as prophet, apostle, prophetess, reverend, etc. 4. False teachers denies the deity of Jesus Christ. 5. False teachers will have a form of godliness but deny God. 6. False teachers will proclaim a false Jesus and a false gospel. Should Christians Expose False Teaching? 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them Would it concern you if you knew that on her radio program Oprah has taught the book called A Course in Miracles written by Helen Schucman? This book and the workbook include such quotes as: "A slain Christ has no meaning.“ "The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself.“ "Do not make the pathetic error of 'clinging to the old rugged cross'." "My salvation comes from me." Mormons believe the cross of Christ is foolishness and thus you will not find a cross in or on top of a Mormon temple. Thus a Mormon could say "Do not make the pathetic error of 'clinging to the old rugged cross'." Mormons believe the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross is not what saves and thus Mormons will not use red wine or red juice for communion but they use water. Thus a Mormon could say "A slain Christ has no meaning." Mormons believe that salvation is not found in placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone but in good works. Thus a Mormon could say "My salvation comes from me." Mormons believe that God is one of many Gods and that every good Mormon man can become a God himself. Thus a Mormon could say that "The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself." Greg West in the Mormon LDS Examiner : “As a Mormon, I have to consider an unintended message throughout Beck's work, which has culminated in this event. That message is: "Mormons are Christian believers." Despite nearly two centuries of misrepresentation and religious envy by sectarian Christianity, Beck has achieved the visibility, prominence, and has had the time day after day, week after week, to speak openly and truly about his core beliefs. Those statements of faith have disoriented and confused those who had previously believed the lies about Mormons. Hallelujah! The light bulb has been switched on after nearly two centuries! Every single member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that a person must be "born again" and receive Jesus Christ as his Savior and Redeemer. Our holy books teach that salvation comes only in and through the atonement of Christ and that there is no other way a person can be saved…Glenn Beck's beliefs are mainstream Mormon beliefs. Joseph Smith, the Church's founder, was a Christian prophet. He was an apostolic witness of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” On his September 2, 2010 television program Beck said the following: "America's religion. This is it gang, this is all you need to know. There is a God, He's going to judge us, we should be good to each other, cause daddy's gonna be pi---- in the end if we're not. That's it. That's called a big principle." On his September 2, 2010 TV program Beck said: "We need a Jesus or a Buddha." “Glenn Beck’s Divine Destiny” was described on his own website, as an evening in which "nationally-known religious figures from all faiths will unite…". The website continues "The audience for the event will be overwhelmingly made up of pastors, ministers and clergy..." The event was also described as an evening "that will help heal your soul.“ Glenn declared on a video on his website that the hymn Eternal Father Strong to Save "is the message of 8/27". On Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace Glenn Beck said that his rally was not political and the reason for his rally was because: "there's nothing that we can do that will solve the problems that we have and keep the peace unless we solve it through God, unless we solve it in being our highest self. Be your higher-self." One New Age website says: “There are many great words to describe Who or What your highest identity or Self truly is. Below are just a few: Higher Self, I am Presence, I Am That I Am…Cosmic Consciousness, God, Christ, Holy Spirit And the list goes on…” On his radio program Beck said: "I Am That I Am is the most powerful phrase in any language as it is the name of god, never use it in vain; use it to create who you want to be. I AM blank." The fact that people like Glenn Beck on the right and Oprah Winfrey on the left are proclaiming the "I AM" message is a sign that we are living in the last days. Jesus Himself in Luke 21:7-8: And they asked Him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? And he said, "Take heed that yet be not deceived: for many will come in My name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near; go ye not therefore after them." Glenn Beck on his radio program declared: "Hell is an eternity of regret not being able to forgive yourself." Glenn Beck on his radio program declared: “People are good, they want to do the right thing.” Romans 3:10 There is none righteous, no, not one Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? In An Emergent Manifesto of Hope Samir Selmanovic asks: “Is our religion the only one that understands the true meaning of life? Or does God place his truth in others too?” His answer: The gospel is not our gospel, but the gospel of the kingdom of God, and what belongs to the kingdom of God cannot be hijacked by Christianity…. To put it in different terms, there is no salvation outside of Christ, but there is salvation outside of Christianity. For the last two thousand years, Christianity has granted itself a special status among religions. An emerging generation of Christians is simply saying, “No more special treatment.” Source: Samir Selmanovic, “The Sweet Problem of Inclusiveness,” An Emergent Manifesto of Hope, 194-5. Richard Ostling, “Most Improbable Dialogue,” Christianity Today (November 2009) “Hush-hush chats occurred between ranking LDS authorities and nationally prominent evangelicals in 2004, 2007, and earlier in 2009, though those familiar with the meetings won’t name names. Participants hope for a publicly known conference between leaders, perhaps as early as [2010]. Another prospect is a series of formal statements on agreements and differences along the lines of Evangelicals and Catholics Together, though that will require LDS officialdom’s sanction.” According to a 2008 Pew Forum survey: 70 percent of Americans believe that “many religions can lead to eternal life”— including 37 percent of white evangelicals, the group most likely to believe that salvation is theirs alone.” In the article, Blessed Are the Intolerant, Pastor Gary Gilley writes: Last year [December 2009] Christianity Today published a revealing article titled “Muslim Followers of Jesus?” It debated the possibility that Muslims could remain in the Islamic religious community, follow Islamic customs, participate in Muslim prayers, study the Qur’an, follow Islamic customs, participate in Muslim prayers, study the Qur’an, and still see themselves as “Messianic Muslims.” While no solid conclusion was drawn, the author was sympathetic toward the possibility that one could, in fact, be a Christian Muslim. The Last Days’ Deception is Here: Beck has set the stage for "conservatives" to accept a one-world religion and numerous leaders of the religious right pulled the ropes that raised the curtain on this ecumenical stage. The Last Days’ Deception is Here: A day is coming in which, the world will be in massive economic, political, and spiritual chaos and a leader will step on to the world stage and this anti-Christ will call for the religions of the world to unite and embrace spirituality. He will declare that he is not about politics but about bringing peace, unity, faith, hope, charity, stability, freedom, and prosperity under the common god of all religions. This world leader will perform counterfeit miracles signs and wonders and those who reject Biblical truth will follow him [2 Thessalonians 2:9-12] and embrace his plan for restoring honor. The Last Days’ Deception is Here: If I had told you five years ago that a "conservative" radio and TV personality would have millions of viewers, would talk about the spiritual battle being waged in America, would be a self-confessed member of a cult, would quote New Age phrases, would call for Christians and conservatives to look to the "one god", would seek to unite all faiths and would convince dozens of evangelical pastors and leaders to support him in a spiritual serviceyou would say I was writing fiction and that this would never happen. Ecumenical Patriotism Equals Nationalism When Nationalism is adopted by the church the gospel is compromised for the sake of economic, social, and political stability. Charles Spurgeon Said: To pursue union at the expense of truth is treason to the Lord Jesus Christ. Charles Spurgeon Said: To remain in doctrinally mixed denominations is contrary to Scriptural principles because thereby: (1) the specific commands for separation in such situations are disobeyed and (2) the Gospel is compromised, if not denied, since such is an attempt at union is only achieved at the expense of vital Christian truth and (3) real union is hindered. For ourselves we cannot be associated in any way with a movement which implies that the evangelical faith is but one of many equally valid insights and traditions. We believe evangelical churches ought to be seen in fellowship with each other and not with those who reject the authority of Scripture and the complete work of Christ." The American Church Should Have Learned Its Lesson From Nazi Germany: In early 1934 from his pulpit in Berlin Pastor Martin Niemoller declared: We have all of us—the whole Church and whole community—we’ve been thrown into the Tempter’s sieve, and he is shaking and the wind is blowing, and it must now become manifest whether we are wheat or chaff! Verily, a time of sifting has come upon us, and even the most indolent and peaceful among us must see that the calm of meditative Christianity is at an end…it is now springtime for the hopeful and expectant Christian Church— it is testing time, and God is giving Satan a free hand, so he may shake us up and so that it may be seen what manner of men we are! Satan swings his sieve and Christianity is thrown hither and thither; and he who is not ready to suffer, he who called himself a Christian only because he thereby hoped to gain something good for his race and his nation is blown away like chaff by the wind of time. The American Church Should Have Learned Its Lesson From Nazi Germany: Pastor Siegfried Leffler proclaimed, “In the pitchblack night of church history, Hitler become, as it were, the wonderful transparency for our time, the window of our age, through which light fell on the history of Christianity. Through him we were able to see the Savior in the history of the Germans. The American Church Should Have Learned Its Lesson From Nazi Germany: Canadian pastor Oswald J. Smith of the People's Church in Toronto, was also impressed with Hitler. In 1936 Smith wrote: What, you ask is the real attitude of the German people toward Hitler? There is but one answer. They love him. Yes, from the highest to the lowest, children and parents, old and young alike, they love their new leader. They trust him to a man. "What about your elections? I asked…” “We don't want another party…We are satisfied with Hitler.” And that feeling exists everywhere. Every true Christian is for Hitler. I know, for it was from the Christians I got most of my information, and right or wrong, they endorse Adolph Hitler. Source: "Hitler's Cross" by Erwin Lutzer, pp. 109, 110 The American Church Should Have Learned Its Lesson From Nazi Germany: Erwin Lutzer in his book Hitler’s Cross writes: “Smith even believed that an evangelical awakening was coming to Germany, with the gospel of Christ preached in the churches.” The American Church Should Have Learned Its Lesson From Nazi Germany: Erwin Lutzer writes: Even when Hitler’s agenda finally became clear, they were not willing to suffer for a gospel that they had long since abandoned. They were most interested in the miracles of a revived Germany than in the miracles on the pages of the New Testament. Salvation in this world was more important than salvation in an unseen life to come. The Bible Predicts What We Are Seeing Today in I Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, Will You Be A Pillar of Truth? I Timothy 3:15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the “household”, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. Jeremiah 12:5 If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, In which you trusted, they wearied you, Then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan? The late Vance Havner was correct when he declared: The devil is not fighting religion; he is too smart for that. He is producing a counterfeit Christianity so much like the real one that good Christians are afraid to speak out against it. As long ago as 1898, Abraham Kuyper warned in the Stone Lectures at Princeton: Do not forget that the fundamental contrast has always been, is still and always will be until the end; Christianity and Paganism, the idols and the living God. In I Kings 18:20-21 Elijah declared to the Children of Israel: "How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him."
