The 45-degree slant bed provides optimum chip flow for chip removal. The entire base is engineered to eliminate unwanted machine vibration. This thoroughly tested and proven machine design delivers rigidity, accuracy, and performance. MAIN SPINDLE The B750 LY incorporates a wide-range 53 horsepower Fanuc built in spindle drive motor inside the turret disc. This built in motor is thermally stabilized with a cooling unit. The motor has an electronic type C-Axis. Milling, drilling, tapping and cam profiling can be performed with the interpolation of the X, Z, C and Y axes. The spindle operates from 0 to 3,000 RPM. The wide range constant output spindle motor provides powerful cutting throughout the spindle speed range DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION The B750 LY utilizes a state-of the art 45-degree slant bed cast base. 3/23/2016 3 TURRET The B750 LY horizontal-axis turret is made at the factory. This 16station bi-directional turret can accept 16 power-driven tools. The driven tools engage directly thanks to the built-in (thermally stabilized) spindle motor inside the turret disc. The turret index speed is a fast 0.3 seconds. The ability of the turret to “index-on-the-fly” further reduces idle time. Bi-directional turret indexing allows the turret automatically to take the shortest path to the next selected cutting tool station. The design and speed of the high-capacity turret yields reduced cycle times and lower part cost. REVOLVING TOOL ATTACHMENT Cross/end drilling, milling and tapping operations can be performed using power-driven tools. This capability eliminates the need to perform secondary operations on a mill, thus reducing handling times and increasing productivity. The tools are driven by a 23 horsepower Fanuc AC spindle motor. The motor provides 41 ft pounds of torque The main spindle is equipped with C-axis and a disc brake which ensures accurate spindle positioning, allowing heavy cuts to be performed. The C-axis control can be turned on without stopping the spindle, reducing cycle times. Both C-axes positioning is accomplished with rotary Heidenhien scales. FULL “Y” AXIS The independent movement of a dedicated Y-axis slide provides the capability to do complicated milling operations and enables the use of many more cutting tools (up to 96) in the turret. Y-axis operation is achieved by the simultaneous wedge-type movement of two independent slides. This design distributes machining load over the two slides assuring exceptional rigidity and maximum accuracy in both turning and milling operations. A full 5.5” of Y-axis ensures more flexibility in part processing. Both X and Y-axes are fitted with scales for the utmost in accuracy. AXIS DRIVES The X, Z, and B axes are driven by precision ball screws and preloaded ball screw nuts, center-mounted between the ways for optimum drive conditions. Automatic lubrication on all ways provides smoother operation and reduced maintenance expense. All drives are protected by covers and chip guards to prevent damage from coolant and chips. The drive motors are all AC Fanuc closed-loop servo drives. TOOL PROBE The electronic probe makes for fast and easy setting of tools, while avoiding the danger of operator error. The operator simply pushes a button to touch-off the tools after each set-up or insert change. The system automatically sends all data relevant to tool position to the CNC unit for storage. The tool probe is mounted on a sturdy hydraulic arm. While not in use, the arm retracts and stores the tool probe in a compartment. 3/23/2016 4 RIGID TAPPING & POLYGONAL TURNING-STANDARD Rigid tapping is fast, quick, easy, yields precise threads, and does not need tap-holders with adjusted stroke. It is controlled through an Mfunction, which synchronizes rotation with slide feed and is available on main, and live-tool spindles. WORK HOLDING SYSTEM The machine comes standard with a 3-jaw Autoblok chuck on the main (12”). Various special workholding is available on a perapplication basis. Optionally the machine may be fitted with an innovative dead-length collet chuck system with rapid-action bayonet locking caps. This German-made system allows an operator to change a collet in under sixty seconds. OPTIONAL: PROGRAMMABLE PARTS CATCHER AND CONVEYOR The parts catcher is programmable for continuous bar work operation. After machining, the part drops into a parts catcher bucket. The parts catcher then deposits the part onto a parts conveyor, which transports the part into a parts pan. It can be set to work on the main spindle. HIGH PRESSURE COOLANT SYSTEM The high-pressure coolant is fed through the turret for the station in use to tip of the cutting tool. The high-pressure coolant pump is start/stop programmable and capable of providing 60 gpm. This system provides maximum chip clearing. EUROTECH STANDARD BARFEED INTERFACE A 24 pin Hartig plug is provided already wired completely to interface with any style or brand of bar feeding device. This standard feature will compliment the most sophisticated magazine type barfeed, as well as the simplest hydrodynamic unit. 3/23/2016 5 CHIP CONVEYOR The chip conveyor provides automatic chip disposal. The chip conveyor is located below the work area and chips are channeled out of the machine for easy discharge into a chip cart. On and off times are controlled through P.C. timers to save coolants and reduce waste. AIR CONDITIONED CABINETS The electronics cabinet is kept at a constant temperature by a sophisticated air conditioning system. This system decreases maintenance downtime and cost. Using environmentally safe refrigerant, it also lengthens the life of the machine’s control and PC boards. FANUC 32i-T CONTROL The machine utilizes a Eurotech Elite Fanuc 32i-T control with a 32bit hi-speed Pentium microprocessor. This 32-bit CNC system provides a processing speed that is many times faster than conventional 32-bit systems. Part program cycle time is reduced to obtain a higher level of productivity. Eurotech Elite’s graphic parts cutting display allows programming accuracy to be checked prior to actual machining by displaying the programmed tool path in graphic form on the 10.4” color LCD screen. Eurotech Elite’s work coordinate system sets the tool indexing position, simplifying programming and tool set-up and reducing machining time. The turret can be programmed to be indexed anywhere along the slide axes; either in front or along side of the work piece. Cutting tool approach distance is shortened and chip—to-chip time is kept to a minimum. Tool geometry offsets provide easy programming and tool setting on the machine. Work coordinate offsets (G54-G59) further enhance the B750 LY’s flexibility. Macro “B” is standard on all Eurotech’s machines to simplify programming families of parts. This function’s capabilities include parts counting, tool management, clock functions, and much more. The extended edit features, copy, move, merge and change, allow very quick program restructure or copying, right at the keypad. The servo tuning page and spindle tuning/monitoring access make optimizing your programs much easier than conventional controls. 3/23/2016 6 B750 LY SPECIFICATIONS MACHINING CAPACITY REVOLVING TOOL ATTACHMENT TURRET Maximum bar capacity ................................................ 3.75” Maximum machining diameter.................................... 18.4” Maximum machining length ...................................... 29.5” Maximum swing over diameter on the bench ............ 26.7” Number of positions ..................................................... 16 Drive motor – max. rating (Fanuc) ....................... 23 HP Speed range (infinitely variable) ................... 6,000 RPM Engagement time ............................................ immediate MAIN SPINDLE C-AXIS CONTROL W/ SPINDLE POSITIONING Spindle bore................................................................ 4.17” Spindle speed range (infinitely variable) .......... 3,000 RPM Spindle motor ........................................................... 53 HP Motor type .........................................................
