Chemistry Project Chapter 22 Organic Chemistry From the topic picked in class, make a poster on an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of copy paper or card stock that includes your hand drawing of a ball-and-stick diagram of your selected organic molecule. Then, make a LIST of the following facts under your drawing: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Molecular formula Boiling point Freezing/melting point State at room temperature based on boiling and melting points Everyday uses and benefits Dangers or problems The list should NOT be in complete sentences or paragraphs and should definitely not be copied and pasted from a website. It should be in your own words. If there are any words that you don’t know, look them up and reword them into your own words. Make the list interesting and informative and as relative to everyday life as possible. The drawing should be colorful and neat and should be done by your own hand and not a copied and pasted picture from the internet. Use a compass or traceable object to draw circles. The different atoms of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, etc. should be labeled or color coded with a key for the color coding. The drawing and the list should fill the 8 ½ x 11 page. Put the name of your molecule at the top of the page as a title. As always, the project is due on test day and bonus points will be given for early projects. Ten points per day will be deducted for each day late.
