Which course type will best suit me? Use the guide below to help you to decide whether to choose A Levels, BTECs or a mix of both types of course. Which subjects do you enjoy and which ones are you best at? Most university courses do not require you to have studied specific subjects. Therefore, if you are unsure about your future career plans, you should base your choice of courses on the subjects you enjoy most. However, if you are likely to apply to the most prestigious universities in the UK, studying a couple of the following subjects will keep more options open for you in the future: Maths, English Literature, History, Geography, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, French, German (Please visit www.russellgroup.ac.uk for more information) 3. What are your future career plans? If you know your future career plans then you should research and choose subjects that will help you in your chosen career. If you know what you plan to study at university the use the website www.ucas.com to research which subjects, if any, are required at Level 3.
