Richard Patton November 5, 2013 ENGL 1101-E01 Annotated Bibliography (Danner) This source was an interesting one. It had some lesser known along with wider known dates of events that were/are important in understanding the history of NASCAR. Such as like when Richard Petty won his seventh championship, or when Buddy Baker became the first driver to drive a stock car faster than 200 miles per hour. I am using the url in this because although you can find it (the site) without it, it is helpful for quick access. DANNER, ALEXA. "NASCAR: A Timeline." ABC News. ABC News Network, n.d. Web. 20 Oct. 2013. <http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/Story?id=3455755&page=1>. (2011) This source was an awesome and invaluable treasure trove of great information! It gave me a greater insight into the backstories of some the most influential figures in the sport. It lists the nominees for the Class of 2011 NASCAR Hall of Fame, and it included stuff that was very useful for the project. I used (2011) as the in-text citation as I have information from the same site, but different pages, and this was main difference between them. "2011 Nominees." Meet the Inductees l NASCAR Hall of Fame. N.p., n.d. Web. 20 Oct. 2013. (2012) This source is pretty much the same as the last one ^, the only real difference is that this one is the 2012 nominees for the Class of 2012 NASCAR Hall of Fame. It gives information on the people, and some of the things that they are/were known for. "2012 Nominees." Meet the Inductees l NASCAR Hall of Fame. N.p., n.d. Web. 20 Oct. 2013. (2013) This source is the same as the above two, and gives facts and information on the people that were nominated for the Class of 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame. It contains names, dates, figures, and stories about the people which is helpful to the project. "2013 Nominees." Meet the Inductees l NASCAR Hall of Fame. N.p., n.d. Web. 5 Nov. 2013. (Fox) This site had a slide show of some of the important safety features that are supposed to reduce driver and fan injury in the event of an accident. It includes things like the hood tethers and roof flaps. The source included things that are important to the project on the lines of safety which my partner and I will hit on. "NASCAR safety features have improved in recent years." FOX Sports. N.p., 17 Aug. 2010. Web. 1 Nov. 2013. <http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/lists/NASCAR-safety-features-haveimproved-in-recent-years#photo-title=&photo=>. (Tracks) This source supplies the list of all the tracks that the NASCAR Sprint Cup series run at in a given season. The information on this site is a given if you’re a diehard, or even a knowledgeable, fan but its helpful and useful resource for someone who doesn’t know. You don’t need the url but it’s so you exactly which one I used. "Sprint Cup Tracks." Tracks. N.p., n.d. Web. 4 Nov. 2013. <http://www.nascar.com/en_us/sprint-cup-series/schedule/tracks.html>. (Daytona) This source had a small bit of information about Daytona International Speedway, including facts about records, past winners, and races held there. This site is nice for information about Daytona with the facts it has. I used the url because although it seems obvious to click the track name for information, it wasn’t clear how to find this page without it. "Daytona International Speedway." Yahoo Sports. N.p., n.d. Web. 5 Nov. 2013. <http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/sprint/tracks/Daytona+International+Speedway/1>. (Dale) This source was great for getting information about Dale Earnhardt, as it was a biography. It gave incredible information about his life, his racing, and anything else you could think of. Being that Dale is a large part of the history of NASCAR, it is fitting that information about him is important and invaluable. "Dale Earnhardt biography." Bio.com. A&E Networks Television, n.d. Web. 31 Oct. 2013. (Biffle) This source is a biography of Greg Biffle, a NASCAR driver, and it had a multitude of information that is great for talking about him. It contained dates of events such as when he won his first race in the Winston Cup at Daytona in the 2003 Pepsi 400 at Daytona on July 5, 2003. This source is wonderful with all of its facts and details. "Greg Biffle biography." Bio.com. A&E Networks Television, n.d. Web. 31 Oct. 2013. (Petty) This site was great for information about Richard Petty. It had information about him, his stats, his records, his upbringing, and his current ties with NASCAR. I found this to be helpful for getting to know the driver and to be able to tell about him and feel confident that what I was saying is true. "Richard Petty biography." Bio.com.
