Types of Causes
• Geographic: to describe or write about the earth
– 5 parts include location, place,
human/environment interaction, movement and
regions
• Political: of or relating to your views about social
relationships involving authority or power
• Economic: a trade system of a country – the
labor, land, resources and the people that
produce and consume goods and services
Types of Causes
• Cultural: Ways of living built up by a group of
people
• Sociological: A study of society, human social
interaction, and the rules and processes that bind
and separate people not only as individuals, but
as members of associations, groups and
institutions
• Psychological: the study of the behavior and
mental characteristics of a specific individual,
group, activity or circumstance
Example
If my topic is child labor, one factor/cause could
be because developing countries do not have
job opportunities or social programs to assist
poor families. If developing countries had more
of these opportunities the dependence on
child/minors in the family to work would be
minimized or eliminated. The perspective of this
factor would best be described as economical.
