Job Description:
StoryStudio Chicago is looking for an entrepreneurial marketing whiz and operations guru to help grow the
company and foment a Communications Revolution by teaching the art and science of telling a good story. We
offer more than 150 classes in fiction, creative non-fiction, screenwriting, business writing, the business of
publishing, and more.
Our students are creative and business writers who want to improve their skills and join a community of writers.
Our staff is a hard-working team, always seeking to improve the student experience and the company’s growth.
We are seeking an energetic, creative, and client-focused manager with marketing and administrative experience
to help us grow. The successful candidate will have an appreciation for good writing and especially for the writer’s
experience. This person will be a crucial part of the management team focusing on the programming, operations
and growth of the creative writing program.
First and foremost is expanding and executing an aggressive marketing program. The administrative focus is on
developing new courses, supervising staff and expanding StoryStudio’s reach in the community. Success will be
measure by an increase in students, classes and revenue.
Responsibilities
Administration and Programming

Manage creative writing programs
Supervise Programs Manager
Supervise teaching and administrative staff
Responsible for class calendar and scheduling
Manage intern work-study program
Oversee instructor and student communications
Marketing





Develop and execute marketing plan focusing on both digital and traditional methods
“Own” company website
Oversee social media strategy execution
Oversee blog editorial program
Manage marketing assistant

Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.

Mastery of computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience collecting, managing and analyzing data and preparing reports
Successful achievements with content and digital marketing/PR
Connections to the Chicago and national literary world are helpful
A love of reading and an appreciation for the artist’s process, needs, and experience is vital
