College Scholarship Cover Letter RE: 2015 Scholarship Information The Clearwater Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of graduates in the Pasco and Pinellas County high schools. The scholarship program is designed to provide funds to female and male minority students of African American heritage who aspire to attend a university or college. Eligibility Requirements: Must be a graduating female or male high school senior of African American heritage. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher. Cumulative is defined as of January of the year of application submission. Must be actively involved in community service. Must submit an official transcript. (Transcript must include grades 9-11 and the first quarter of grade 12). The applicant must reside and attend school within our designated service area (in Pinellas County north of Ulmerton Road or in Pasco County west of Highway 54). Must submit two (2) recent signed letters of recommendation for consideration. The letters may be from either of the following: student’s current teachers, counselor, school administrator and from a minister or someone from the community who can comment on their character. The applicant must submit a two-page essay (typed and double spaced) on a topic to be determined by the Scholarship and Standards Committee.
