

adjectives by written and oral practice.

Know and use the present tense conjugation of tener in sentences to say what someone has or to say
someone’s age by written and oral practice.

Ask and say ages of oneself and others by written and oral practice.

Ask and say when is one’s birthday and when are those of others by written and oral practice.

Know and apply different aspects about the day such as telling the day, date, weather, season, time, and
whose birthday it is by oral presentation and audience critique.

Participate culturally by memorizing and reciting songs about South American countries and their capitals
and singing other folk song.

Know location of South American countries by pointing to map while singing about each country and its
capital.

Adjective grid- By asking how each student is characteristically, find people in class who have the characteristics on
the adjective chart. Write their names in the square that describes them. (IP)
Using the names on the grid write 5 sentences which describe 1 student or 1 group of students, being sure to use
the correct form of ser and to match the adjective in number and gender to the subject. (IP)
Close- Answer the question on your way out: Was it easier or more difficult to remember to use the correct form
of adjective when you had to ask people in person how they were?

Finish 5 sentences about student descriptions- Due tomorrow.

Adjective game- Bring 5 different people up to the front of the room. Using 1 of your 5 sentences, describe 1 of the
people in the group, without mentioning his/her name. Read the sentences describing this person aloud, and let
the audience figure out who it is that is being described. (IP)
Close- Answer this question: How does knowing the ending of the adjectives help you to figure out who you
were describing?

Handout mini- poster project requirements. Explain how students will create a poster to describe 2 different
celebrities and to compare the characteristics of each celebrity with each other and with the student.
Do research about your most and least favorite personality. Create sentences to answer the questions in the
requirements about each.
Close- Tell a characteristic you have in common with your most or least favorite celebrity on your way out. Make
sure the adjective matches you in number and gender.
Homework (la tarea):
Finish mini- poster project- (Counts as a quiz grade)- Due Monday, October 27.
Study chapter 2-1 vocabulary.- Test on Thursday, 10-30.
