Converting between fractions and decimals using the calculator:
math 1: Frac
math 2: Dec
Also see math, num B
Note: You can quickly convert from one number type to the other by using the
FRAC shortcut menu. Press alpha F1 4 to convert a value between its fractional
and devimal forms.
LCM lowest common multiple
e.g. LCM of 6 and 8 is 24
On calculator:
math Num: 8 lcm(6, 8)
Find the greatest common denominator of 45 and 60.
On calculator:
math Num: 9 gcd (45,60)
Using the calculator to do fractions
The fraction functions are:
n/d for a straight forward fraction, including improper ones.
⊔n/d for a mixed number
Use math Num D to enter a proper or improper fraction (or alpha F1 1)
Use math Num C to enter a mixed number (or alpha F1 2)
Use math Num A to convert improper fraction to mixed number and vice versa
(alpha F1 3)
Use math NUM B to convert between fractions and decimals (or alpha F1 4)
