Calvert Hospice Human Resources Coordinator Job Description The Human Resources Coordinator is an experienced professional responsible for the effective administration of the human resources policies and procedures. The Human Resource Coordinator addresses the day to day functions of payroll, employee relations, recording, hiring, termination, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational, and employment assessment. This individual works closely with the Leadership Team. Human Resources Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Prepares and issues paychecks and ensures accuracy of payroll. Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Recruits for open positions and supports management with the hiring process within organization policies. Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals. Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and retirement plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting. Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment. Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization. Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization. Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, retirement plan, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance. Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier. Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Position Qualifications and Knowledge Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred. Minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Human Resource systems; Internet software; Payroll systems i.e. ADP; Microsoft Office Certificates Any of the listed certificates below is preferred: PHR® (Professional in Human Resources) SPHR® (Senior Professional in Human Resources) GPHR® (Global Professional in Human Resources) Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of Human Resources Laws and regulations.
