Important Dates for Online Registration
September 14th, 2015 Monday
On-line Registration System Opens (10:00)
September 16th, 2015 Wednesday
Day for all students to meet with their advisors

Registration System closes to student access (19:00)
September 18th, 2015 Friday
Registration System closes to advisor access (23:59)
September 28th, 2015 Monday
Classes begin for the 1st semester of 2015 - 2016
September 28th, 2015 Tuesday
Online Registration System opens (10:00) only to students whose
schedules have been rejected by their advisors (the system closes to
students access at 23:59). Students must request approval again.
October 05th– October 07th, 2015 Monday - Wednesday

Internet Info
• On-campus access: You can use the computer
laboratories in the South and North campuses.
• Visit the South Campus Computer Center to
obtain a ‘boun’ e-mail account (address)
• Wireless connection is accessible in almost
every building with name Boun_Wlan and it is
free, it does not require any password. For the
eduroam connection, use the username and
password provided you.
Withdrawal
• If you think that you will fail a course and you
do not want the grade F to appear on your
transcript, you should withdraw from that
course.
• Last week of November (TBA)
• Send your modified schedule for an approval.
Academic Advisor
• Your academic advisor will be assigned to you
during online course registration your
department.
• If you cannot see advisor’s name on the
registration page, please contact our office
directly as soon as possible.
• Your advisor is the contact person for all
academic issues.
Early exams
• If you have to leave university before the final
exam’s period is over, please note that early
exams must be requested during the first week
of classes.
• Early exams are not automatic and the
department/Professor may decline to offer you
an early exam.
• Early exams usually take place during the last
week of classes (till December 25th)
PE courses / Fine Arts courses
• Letter grades are not given in Physical Ed and
Fine Arts courses; they are either Pass or Fail
• Under no circumstances can our office or any
other office provide you with a letter grade for
these courses
EMERGENCY
BÜREM-Boğaziçi University Guidance and
Psychological Counseling Center
• BÜREM is the counseling center for Boğaziçi
University students, offering a variety of
services to students including individual and
group counseling.
• For an appointment, students have to go to
BUREM and fill out an application form.

Extention for Spring 2016
• We will need a confirmation from your home
institution (Erasmus/Exchange). You will need
to drop by our office and sign a petition which
will be sent to the relevant department for
evaluation.
• We strongly advise that you start this process
in late October since extensions are accepted
only until late November.
• The extension is not automatic and the
department may decline to offer you an
How to get a discount travel card?
• You need the following:
1. Official ID
2. Proof of Student Document from institution
3. Receipt (2 copies)
• You need to deposit 10 TL to "İETT paso
account" at Vakıf Bank (Branch Code: 345,
Account Number:
TR280001500158007282473579). They will
give you a receipt showing that you deposited
the money. You SHOULD NOT lose that until
Student Cafeteria
• There are 2 student cafeterias, one in North Campus (below New Hall) the
other in South Campus (below Administration Hall).
• Use your Boğaziçi University Student ID card.
• Each meal is 1.5 TL, lunch (12:00-14:00) and dinner (17:00-19:00).
• Each meal consists of 4 types of food: A bowl of soup, main course, a
selection from rice/bulgur/pasta and a selection from
ayran/fruit/salad/desert depending on the date and meal.
• There is breakfast for 1 TL in the morning, 7:30-9:30 am on weekdays.
• Refer to the announcement boards at the cafeterias in case of a change in
meal dates and times.

Library
• You can use the library starting on October
07th.
• You can use the library showing your letter of
acceptance at the entrance until your ID cards
are ready. You cannot borrow books until you
have your student ID card.
• Special students need to pay a deposit (120 TL)
at the beginning of the semester in order to
use the library. You will get your money back
before you leave the school if you bring the
recipt back to the library.
Transcript of Records
• Transcript of Records (2 copies) will be sent by
our office via regular post in early February to
the same address which appears on your
Acceptance Letter.
• Note that it may take up to 2 months for your
transcripts to reach your university after you
complete your final exams at Boğaziçi.
• Please check the address before you go back
home to avoid any errors. If required, you may
change the address at our office during your
study period.
Residence Permit
Animals on the campus
• The cats and dogs on the campus are
fairly harmless and very playful.
• Campus dogs are down to earth and
friendly whereas campus cats often
come off as sassy and sneaky. Be careful
with your food if you are eating
outdoors, cats can be cheeky.
• In case you get bitten or scratched by a
cat, please go get vaccined.
• It is a good thing to pet the animals.
Campus cats’ favorite thing to do is to
crawl in your lap as you are sitting on a
bench. Well, if you find an empty bench
to sit in first place.
• If you are allregic, the best way of
keeping a cat away is to threaten to wet
them with a bottle of water.

South campus ( Güney Kampüsü )
- South Campus is the historical campus of
Bogazici University situated on a hill
overlooking the Bosphorous and the fortress,
Rumeli Hisari.
- South Campus also houses two dormitories,
Hamlin Hall and Theodorus Hall as well as a
number of service facilities including the
Infirmary, Kennedy Lodge Faculty Center,
University Cultural Heritage Museum, and the
Mithat Alam Film Center.

North campus ( Kuzey Kampüsü )
• Abdullah Kuran Library is the main library of
the University.
• Sciences and Engineering Building houses
laboratories, offices of the academic staff,
seminar rooms, and the departments of
Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Civil
Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical
and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical
Engineering.
Campuses
Hisar campus ( Hisar Kampüsü )
Overlooking the Bosphorus and the Fatih Sultan
Bridge, Hisar Campus with its 7.942 square area,
is one of the recently built campuses. The School
of Applied Disciplines, Institute of Environmental
Sciences, more than 20 classrooms, 3
amphitheaters and a cafeteria are located in this
campus. The campus also includes an indoor
swimming pool and a gymnasium.

Uçaksavar campus
Uçaksavar Campus has housing facilities for the
academic staff members as well two dormitories
for students (Superdorm and Uçaksavar Dorm).
There is a sports complex with its stadium and
fully equipped gym.

Kandilli campus
This campus is home to Kandilli Observatory
which was built in 1868 and later became part of
the University in 1982. An Earthquake Research
Institute was added to the campus. Institute of
Biomedical Engineering and BU-TUBİTAK
Theoretical Physics Institute are also located on
this campus.

Kilyos campus ( Sarıtepe kampüsü )
Sarıtepe Campus which is situated on the shores
of the Black Sea with its 1.272.600 square meter
land, has been given to Bogazici University by the
Ministry of National Education in 1985. There are
dormitories for students, housing for academic
staff members, classrooms for the English
Preparatory School students, offices and a library
on the campus. A small hotel and two cafeterias
serve the needs of the residents.
