Electronic Note Taking
Over the years, you’ve probably worked your way through dozens of notebooks that you have
stored, lost or had to throw away to de-clutter. And then when you needed the information, you
couldn’t find it. What if all the information could be stored in one spot and all you had to do was
type in the key words to find it. Simple! Actually it is that simple and this guide is going to
highlight a few ideas that can assist you with your electronic note taking while studying online.
Smartpen
Do you still love pen and paper? Well, you don’t have to give it up when embracing new
technology. With a Smartpen, you take handwritten notes in your Smartpen notebook as you
regularly would in meetings, lectures, or conferences. To record audio, just tap the pen on the
Record button, and the pen will record as you take notes, linking the written and spoken words
together. Notes and audio are stored on the pen. To play back corresponding audio, click on the
page image and the Player will load where you can watch ink and audio playback together. Click
on any location on the digital page to jump straight to that point in the recording.

Evernote
Collect all sorts of information including text notes, web pages, files, etc and have everything
made instantly available on every device and computer you use.
Evernote is free and downloaded off www.evernote.com. Once installed, it is just a matter of
dragging the text or image directly to your Evernote program and it will automatically ‘file’ it.
Once your items have been placed in to Evernote, it will then automatically synchronize across
your Evernote-enabled devices so that you can have access to them anywhere, any time.

OneNote
Designed to function as an electronic version of a paper notebook, Microsoft OneNote is a notetaking application used for collecting, organizing and sharing digital information. By storing text
notes, photos, audio and video snippets, handwriting and similar content, Microsoft OneNote
collects and organizes the information, making it available for searching as well as sharing with
others.
Microsoft OneNote is included with the Microsoft Office suite, and it also syncs OneNote data
between computers and devices through Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud storage service.
