The University of Mississippi

manage disability-related issues in a variety of campus environments.
An assistantship with SDS will allow graduate students a unique look into the field of disability
services in higher education. The experience will provide challenging and diverse opportunities
to interact with students, study the legal mandates involved in the field, and learn the day-to-day
workings of a busy disability services office.
Opportunities for students chosen for this Assistantship will include:

Because of the federally protected privacy and confidentiality involved with the
information received through SDS, graduate students will be required to sign a
confidentiality statement before the Assistantship begins. Any student found in violation
of confidentiality requirements will be immediately dismissed from the Assistantship and
the Graduate School will be notified.
