Engineering Intern
Kärcher North America, North America’s largest manufacturer of
commercial and industrial pressure washers, floor care equipment, and
water cleaning equipment is looking for an Engineering Intern for six
months or longer. Prefer 40 hours/wk M-F, but can be flexible with
school schedule. Salary $15.00/hr. This position is located at our
Camas, WA facility.
This position works with New Product Development Engineers to
fabricate and assemble prototype components of various cleaning
equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIIES:
• Support engineers
• Modeling purchased parts not in system
• Assist with implementing new drafting standards
• Assist with prototype builds and submit ECO’s (Engineering Change
Orders).
QUALIFICATIONS
Job Description
• Ability to create simple 2D drawings
• Familiar with sheet metal bending, cutting, and welding techniques.
• Experience with manual shop tools for sheet metal and wood
forming.
• Basic understanding of automotive electrical systems such as
switches, relays, etc.
• Possess good communication skills and is comfortable talking with
engineers or vendors.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of industrial pressure washers or water treatment
equipment is a plus.
Computer skills should include Excel, Word, Outlook; strong 3D
modeling skills, Autodesk Inventor preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. College or technical
drafting courses a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The candidate must be able to occasionally lift a load of 50 lbs. The job
requires long periods of standing, walking, and carrying of materials.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a typical machine shop environment requiring
steel toed shoes (to be supplied by candidate), safety glasses, and
occasional hearing protection. Some assembly work will be performed
outdoors.
Pre-employment drug test, online assessment and background check
required.
