Your paper is due on FRIDAY, JANUARY 15TH AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE PERIOD. Please submit to turnitin.com. Your paper will have an Introduction, Thesis Statement, two body paragraphs, 2 quote sandwiches, and a concluding paragraph. Essay: The Body of Christopher Creed STEP ONE: Brainstorming. Use the guided questions below. STEP TWO: Review your brainstorming and land on a paper TOPIC STEP THREE: Develop a Thesis Statement. STEP FOUR: Go to the ARC for a Thesis Statement Conference STEP FIVE: Use the Outline Worksheet to write your plan for the essay. At the minimum, your outline will have the thesis, topic sentences, and potential quotes that you will use for your essay. STEP SIX: After you complete your outline, you will write the body of the paper by focusing on proving your thesis. To do this, you need to write TWO body paragraphs. Each body paragraph should be focused on one of your main ideas. Start each paragraph with a topic sentence that states the main idea. Use the quote sandwich technique we discussed in class. Be sure that the last sentence of the paragraph is a clincher. STEP SEVEN: After you have completed the body paragraphs, you will write an introduction and conclusion. We will discuss this in class, so do not begin on this part until we have discussed it. *In this essay, I will be concentrating my grading on the strength of the quotes you choose and how you develop your paragraphs.
