This will be graded on test days and count as a quiz grade. Graphing calculators will be issued if a student does not have their own. They will be required to turn in a Calculator Agreement form and 4 AAA batteries in an unopened package. Students are then responsible for replacing dead batteries. Textbook: Holt Algebra 2, Texas Edition, 2007 You will have the option to check out a textbook to keep at home or to use the online textbook. Textbooks will be available in the classroom so you do not need to carry it back and forth. Grading Procedures: Your six-weeks grade will be calculated in the following way: Tests: 50% (2 per six weeks)(There will be no retests) Quizzes: 30% Homework: 20% Progress reports will be distributed to the students the fourth week of each six-weeks. Quizzes and tests are timed. Cheating will result in a grade of 0. Go to www.risd.org and click on Parents or Students for information on how to log on to RPortal to check your grades. Homework Will be assigned daily. Must be complete with all work clearly shown in order to receive full credit. Must be written in pencil. Late homework: Will be accepted one day late for a 20% deduction. More than one day late will receive a grade of 0. Expectations Come to class prepared and ready. Respect your teacher, one another and yourself at all times Take pride in your education and your school Follow all rules in the LHHS student handbook Absences Make-up Quizzes and Tests: If you are absent the day of a quiz or test, see me immediately upon your return to schedule a make-up time. Please communicate with me in advance of absences when your absence will be due to a school-related function. Make-up Homework: It is the student’s responsibility to collect all papers missed due to an absence. Check Edline or check the Make Up folders to find out what you missed. BYOD – “Bring Your Own Device” Students at LHHS have the option of bringing an electronic device for educational use in the classroom. I will allow use of these devices at DESIGNATED times specified by me. Otherwise, all electronic devices should be silenced and placed out of sight. If cell phones or media devices are seen or heard in the classroom when permission is not given, they can be turned in to the office and only returned after a $15 fine is paid.
