Learning Plans for French IB, week 1 1/5 – 1/8 Tuesday – Wednesday *Tuesday – Students will explore the song “Let it go” from Frozen in French. Enduring Understandings/Essential Questions: How can I use expressions with faire and avoir in French in everyday conversation? Unit Objectives Unit 3 lesson 8 We will review the verb faire, which is irregular. We will review the verb avoir, which is irregular. We will concentrate on expressions in French used with faire and avoir. Learner Objectives: (TEKS) 1) Communication – The student communicates in a language other than English using the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. (a)Engage in oral and written exchanges of learned materials to socialize and to provide and obtain information. (3) Connections – The student uses the language to make connections with other subject areas and to acquire information. (b) Use the language to reinforce knowledge of other subject areas. (4) Comparisons – The student develops insight into the nature of language and culture by comparing student’s own language and culture to another. (a) Demonstrate an understanding of the nature of the language through comparisons of the student’s own language and the language studied. I can use expressions with faire and avoir in French in everyday conversation. I will write simple sentences using everyday expressions with Faire and avoir in French. Formative Assessments: Warm ups will be used as a check for understanding. Cloze activity, white boards and parking lot Learning Plan: Students will review how to conjugate the irregular verb “faire” and “avoir” in French in the present tense. Students will practice using certain expressions that go along with faire and avoir in French. Differentiation Students will write simple sentences using everyday expression with faire and avoir in French. Students will ask and answer questions in complete sentences using faire and avoir. Thursday - Friday Unit Objectives Unit 4 lesson 9 and 10(and part of 12) We learn to talk about everyday objects that we own and use. We will learn how to use definite vs indefinite articles in French. We will learn the rules to using indefinite articles in a negative sentence in French. We will learn how to use partitive articles in French. We will learn how to use prepositions of place in French. We will learn the difference between c’est and il est… We will learn how to use colors in French and make them agree with the noun that they modify.
