Lesson: Signs in Everyday Life #1
Unit: Signs in Everyday Life
Purpose of Instruction: Students will be able to identify and describe typical road signs that they will see when taking a
driver’s test.
Materials Needed: All Star book 4. Traffic signs flashcards.
Introduction: The lesson will start out with an introduction into driving laws. We will quickly look as some traffic signs to determine
which students can identify common traffic signs. Those signs that are unknown to students will be introduced and discussed.
Modeling: Common traffic signs will be shown and discussed as a whole group.
Guided Practice: In a group students will match the traffic sign to a written flashcard that describes the signs purpose.
Evaluation: Students will review the symbols taught in this lesson during the next class as a quick assessment. A final assessment will
be given at the end of the unit
