Process Department: Title: 3 Human Resources Job Description Coffee Shop Supervisor (Bedford) Background: The coffee shop is in a central location in Bedford and operates as a commercial venture Monday to Saturday from 8:30 – 3:00, offering high quality coffees & teas and a range of sandwiches & cakes in contemporary surroundings. The coffee shop also runs a ‘suspended coffee’ scheme and from 3:00 – 5:00 provides a venue for those in need to access support and guidance along with food and beverage at negligible or no cost. You will also work with YMCA Bedfordshire support staff to provide ongoing client support, working effectively with a range of professionals and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes for all. To champion customer service standards within the coffee shop, ensuring that staff are providing excellent customer service and managing excellent standards of food preparation and housekeeping. In conjunction with the Coffee Shop Manager ensure the coffee machine and appliances are in good working order and maintained on a regular basis. In conjunction with the Coffee Shop Manager ensure the daily and weekly cleaning schedules are completed to a high standard and maintain a clean and tidy kitchen and retail area. Support the Coffee Shop Manager to ensure staff are assigned to shift patterns and breaks to maximise efficiency and deliver optimum levels of customer service Support the Coffee Shop Manager to plan staff rotas around operational needs, paying particular attention to peak trading periods ensuring that staffing costs are managed within agreed budgets. General In conjunction with the Coffee Shop Manager, build, maintain and manage relevant local relationships and assist in the promotion of YMCA Bedfordshire services and programmes. To ensure that company health and safety and security procedures are applied within areas of responsibility. Support the Coffee Shop Manager to safeguard company property against theft, loss or abuse and investigate all reported security issues. Ensure that cash handling procedures are adhered to and loss and damage to stock is investigated and minimised.
