Evidence of Research
• You need to include job information that
you looked up.
• This should included:
– Job description
– Duties and responsibilities
– Qualifications
– Entry level positions
– Advancement opportunities
– Job outlook and salary
Experience in the real world
• Basically, you need to get in contact with
someone who has the job you are
researching (or a similar job) and then
write about it.
• You can interview them, observe them
while they work, go to a business and
casually ask some questions, talk with
friends or family, etc.
• DO NOT BE WEIRD! All you have to do is
ask someone about their job, it’s really
easy!
Sample School Work
• You are going to pick an assignment from
Ms. Finney, Ms. Walton or this class that
you have completed and did a good job
on.
• Then you are going to write about the
assignment and how it pertains to the job
you want.
Use of FCS Coursework
• You need to relate your career to
SOMETHING we have talked about in
here. (Or Ms. Finney or Walton’s classes)
• Remember, we talked about work ethic,
fringe benefits, various job skills and how
jobs impact your lifestyle!!
Career Planning
• You are going to make at least 2 career
goals and a plan to make them happen.
• Your plan needs to include things you did
or could do in high school and what you
plan on doing to complete the goals.
• Activities, programs and clubs you did or
could join should be included.
