Vikings thought that thunder was caused by the wheels of his chariot rolling across the sky. • Thor was a bringer of good luck. Many Vikings carried charms in the shape of hammers. • The most mild-mannered of the three main gods. • God of fruitfulness and fertility. • People sacrificed to Frey during times of celebrating a wedding. Greenland! • Around the year 1,000 Leif set sail from Greenland and into the pages of history. • Landed in a place he called Vineland (Vin-land) because of the wild grapes that grew there. • Vikings did reach North America (Newfoundland Canada) but there are no grapes there.
