Course Description
This course prepares students to successfully use college technology tools for learning, communicating,
and performing routine tasks. Students will learn how to use the district course management system,
Angel Learning. This includes learning to communicate with students and instructors via the online mail
system and forum, submit assignments online, complete online tests, read reports such as the
gradebook, and use tools within Angel (note taking tool and calendar) to improve study skills. Students
will also review how to use Webadvisor for course enrollment. While this course specifies success for
distance learning, the emphasis will include how to successful use distance learning tools to be
successful in all classes that use web technologies.
Student Learning Outcomes
Students will demonstrate the ability to use a course management system to send homework and
communicate with the instructor.

Supplies
Students will need to have access to a computer and internet. The Technology Center (located in the
Campus Center above the bookstore) and the Mission College library offer access to computers for
students who may not have access at home or work.
Grading Policy
This course is offered as pass/fail only. Students must complete 80% of their assignments and receive
70% or higher on their final test to pass the course. This course is designed to support students who are
interested in improving their technology skills and learning how to use college-level technology.
Students will have access to the instructor for additional assistance should any be required to complete
assignments or complete the final exam.
