Berkeley Women in Business
Application for Executive Board Position: 2015-2016
You may apply to up to two positions. The new roles are clarified at the end of the application. Please
follow the directions below outlining parts 1 through 4 of the application. Applications are to be
submitted via email by Sunday, April 12 at MIDNIGHT (11:59PM). Interviews will be held the
weekend of April 18-19. In addition to interviewing, you will be required to sign up for a tabling shift
during Cal Day on April 18. Email your completed application packet to the following contacts when

club, and committee and officer positions. What do you think has been your greatest contribution to
the club?

responsibilities to BWIB?

Vice President of Communications
 Oversees Communications committee
 Maintains and expands the club’s online presence on social media
 Updates events and club-related opportunities on Facebook, Instagram, and our website
 Manages the topic boards on Pinterest
 Organizes and write posts highlighting Star Committee Members every week
 Creates and maintains internal resources (ex. Test Bank, Professional Development
Handouts) and manages overall internal communications
Vice President of Community Development
 Oversees the Community Development committee
 Organizes one community service event per semester
 Plans and organizes the retreat and end-of-the-year Banquet
 Organizes all the internal social events within Berkeley Women in Business to help the
members familiarize with each other to build a strong community
Vice President of Corporate Relations
 Oversees Corporate Relations committee
 Arranges workshops and guest speakers for events
 Builds relationships with business and professional community outside of Cal
 Fosters corporate recognition of Berkeley Women in Business
 Researches and contacts potential corporate sponsors in conjunction with Vice President of
Finance
 Writes thank-you notes to all guest speakers, sponsors, and other friends of Berkeley Women
in Business as needed
Vice President of Finance
 Oversees Finance committee
 Maintains accurate records of all club finances
 Records membership dues and expenditures
 Submits reimbursement requests
 Responsible for all fundraising, including sponsorship packages and relationships with
sponsors
 Applies for grants from the ASUC
 Submits the annual application for ASUC funding
Vice President of Marketing
 Oversees Marketing committee
 Organizes tabling, flyering, and chalking efforts across all committee members
 Designs and purchases PR materials for the purpose of advertising BWIB on campus
 Publicizes all club events per the directions of the Executive Board and obtains permission
from appropriate authorities for publicity efforts.



Designs cover photos for the BWIB Facebook event pages using Photoshop
Organizes on-campus BWIB marketing events
Manages BWIB marketing materials including, but not limited to, the tent, sign, banner, and
handouts.
Vice President of Member Relations





Oversees Member Relations committee
Coordinates an internal mentorship program, in which upperclassmen members of the club
mentor lowerclassmen members
Organizes one alumni event per semester
Reaches out to and collects database of alumni
Handles and promote BWIB Alumni LinkedIn
Vice President of Technology
 Oversees Technology committee
 Establishes, expands and maintains the Berkeley women in business website
 Creates officer email addresses
 Responsible for events, blog and social media updates for the website
 Establishes and maintains the resume book, test bank and alumni pages
 Undertakes projects relating to website reconstruction and technology
Vice President of University Relations
 Oversees University Relations committee
 Maintains contact with Haas Graduate School of Business “Women in Leadership” club, as
well as other Haas-sponsored and Haas-affiliated organizations at the undergraduate and
graduate level
 Signs the club up for Calapalooza, Cal Day, and Career Fair events
 Works to build a network with professors for speaking events and the surrounding campus
community
 Collaborates with other student organizations on campus
Administrative Coordinator
 Takes minutes at all officer meetings
 Creates sign-in sheets for every event for members to sign into
 Maintains club email listserv
 Creates and manages historical records of club events and contacts
 Creates and distributes weekly Berkeley Women in Business newsletter
 Secures room reservations and ensures all club events abide by Office of the Registrar Room
Reservation rules
 Collects and records membership applications and dues
 Creates feedback surveys for monthly All-Staff and holds discussion
