Application for Executive Board Position
2014-2015 School Year
Thank you for your interest in being an executive board member of Berkeley Women in Business. To
accommodate BWIB’s tremendous growth over the past year, we are expanding the existing
organization structure with new roles and redefined responsibilities. All roles are described at the end
of the application.
You may apply to up to two positions. Please follow the directions below outlining parts 1 through
5 of the application. Applications are to be submitted via email by Wednesday, April 9 at 11:59PM.
Interviews will be held the evenings of Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13. Email your completed

If you would to experience how executive board meetings run, you are invited to shadow a meeting on

Executive Officer applicants are required to represent Berkeley Women in Business during CalDay on
Saturday, April 12. Applicants will work one hour-long shift. We will send additional details once they
become available.

Executive Officer Descriptions
2014-2015 School Year
Vice President of Administration
 Takes minutes at all executive board meetings
 Creates sign-in sheets for every event; tallies at end of semester for attendance awards
 Maintains club membership records
 Collects membership dues; creates and administers member intake questionnaire
 Maintains and updates public club calendar and email account
 Performs data analysis on members and interests; administers feedback surveys
 Creates and distributes weekly Berkeley Women in Business newsletter
 Secures room reservations and ensures all club events abide by Office of the Registrar Room
Reservation rules
 Reports to President
Vice President of Communications
 Oversees Communications Committee
 Maintains and expands BWIB’s social media presence (i.e. Facebook group and page, Twitter,
Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)
 Organizes and manages posts for BWIB internal blog
 Creates and maintains internal member resources (i.e. test bank, professional development
handouts, etc.)
 Manages integration of CalLink system into BWIB operations
 Facilitates overall communication within Berkeley Women in Business
 Reports to Internal Vice President
Vice President of Community Development
 Oversees Community Development Committee
 Organizes club socials and community service events throughout the year
 Plans club-wide retreat
 Plans the end-of-year banquet and end-of-Fall semester dinner
 Organizes committee orientation as well as officer retreat at the start of Fall semester
 Reports to Internal Vice President
Vice President of Corporate Relations
 Organizes corporate events and prioritizes sponsor events
 Communicates with VPs to arrange corporate events
 Checks in regularly with sponsors and addresses their sponsorship criteria
 Creates and manages corporate sponsorship packages
 Organize club office visits
 Works with VP of Administration and VP of Marketing to ensure events are promoted and any
appropriate announcements are conveyed to members
 Compiles and maintain list of BWIB corporate contacts
 Actively seeks out and engages potential corporate sponsors of Berkeley Women in Business



Coordinates sponsorship payment with VP of Finance
Responsible for thank-you cards for visiting professionals
Reports to External Vice President
Vice President of Finance
 Oversees Finance committee
 Maintains accurate records of all club finances
 Process club deposits and approves reimbursements
 Responsible for all fundraising; holds at least 2 fundraising events per semester
 Completes and submits annual application for ASUC funding
 Records appropriate metrics (cost, profit, pros/cons of idea, improvements) of fundraisers
 Provide budgets for committees at beginning of each semester and/or major club events and
promotions
 Organizes order of BWIB club gear for members
 Reports to External Vice President; provides analysis of fundraising efforts
Vice President of Marketing
 Oversees Marketing committee
 Leads weekly committee meetings ensuring development of each committee member
 Generates graphics and visuals for event promotion, fundraising, website, and blog
 Manages all marketing merchandise according to budget as provided by VP of Finance
 Fulfills agreed-upon minimum requirements of hosting workshops
 Provides professional headshots for all paid members
 Coordinates all club-wide tabling, chalking, flyering, and other campus publicity
 Develops multimedia project for end-of-year banquet
 Facilitates additional marketing campaign(s) devised by committee
 Reports to Internal Vice President
Vice President of Member Relations
 Oversees Member Relations committee
 Arranges an internal mentorship program within Berkeley Women in Business
 Manages alumni relations by engaging former BWIB officers, graduated BWIB members, and
other lifetime members
 Holds bi-monthly meetings and club-wide networking or workshop events with alumnae
 Administers regular evaluations of mentorship and alumni program
Vice President of University Relations
 Oversees University Relations committee
 Actively engages with MBA Women in Leadership club; hosts events to foster relationship
between BWIB and MBA students
 Collaborate with other Haas-sponsored and on-campus organizations to expose BWIB
members more networking opportunities
 Works closely with the Career Center to co-host the Career Fair and Internship Fair
 Maintains contact with Haas faculty members by inviting them to give talks to BWIB
VP of Technology
 Establishes, maintains, and expands Berkeley Women in Business website
 Creates relevant officer email addresses
 Manages technology set up for all events; procures all equipment necessary
 Renews domain name and other necessary website features
 Works with VPs to ensure proper infrastructure is provided to all projects

President
 Oversees all aspects of the organization; ensure effective communication among executive
board members
 Leads Executive Board meetings
 Represents the organization at Director’s Advisory Council (DAC) meetings
 Serves as primary contact to ASUC, the LEAD Center, and Haas School of Business
 Work closely with VP of Administration to ensure tasks are completed
 Meets with EVP and IVP to develop overall club strategy
 Receives and directs communications from potential partners to relevant VPs
 Serves as face of organization to potential community and professional partners
 Provides leadership and professional development opportunities to all officers
External & Internal Vice Presidents
 EVP oversees VPs of University Relations, Corporate Relations, and Finance
 IVP oversees VPs of Community Development, Member Relations, Communications,
Technology, and Marketing







Serves as liaison between relevant VPs and president; serve as first point of contact to
respective VPs
Conducts check-ins, meetings, mentorship, and feedback for respective VPs
Strategizes with President to improve club's overall operational efficiency and to accommodate
future growth; emphasizes member recruitment and retention
Ensures said strategies and individual VP goals are met throughout the year
Organizes internal professional development opportunities
Both act as president when president is unable
EVP meets with corporate sponsors alongside VP of Corporate Relations in order to secure
funds and foster good relations on behalf of BWIB
