Berkeley Women in Business
Application for Executive Board Position: 2013-2014
In the past year, BWIB has seen tremendous growth, and to accommodate our burgeoning
activities we are expanding the existing organization structure with new roles and responsibilities. The
new roles are clarified at the end of the application.
You may apply to up to two positions. Please follow the directions below outlining parts 1 through
4 of the application. Applications are to be submitted via email by Friday, April 12 at MIDNIGHT
(11:59PM). Interviews will be held the evening of Thursday, April 18. Email your completed

Vice President of Communications
 Oversees Communications committee
 Establishes and updates the club website
 Maintains and expands social media presence
 Organizes and writes posts for Berkeley Women in Business internal blog
 Creates and maintains internal resources (ex. test bank, professional development handouts)
and manages overall internal communication
Vice President of Professional Development
 Oversees Professional Development committee
 Arranges workshops and guest speakers for events
 Builds relationships with business and professional community outside of Cal
 Fosters corporate recognition of Berkeley Women in Business
 Researches and contacts potential corporate sponsors in conjunction with Vice President of
Finance
 Writes thank-you notes to all guest speakers, sponsors, and other friends of Berkeley Women
in Business as needed
Vice President of Finance
 Oversees Finance committee
 Maintains accurate records of all club finances.
 Collects membership dues and expenditures and approves reimbursements.
 Maintains accurate membership records. Membership records are to include an alphabetized
list of all active and inactive members, with their names, phone numbers, and email
addresses.
 Responsible for all fundraising, including sponsorship packages and relationships with
sponsors.
 Completes and submits the annual application for ASUC funding.
Vice President of Marketing
 Oversees Marketing committee
 Organizes tabling, flyering, and chalking efforts across all committee members
 Produces PR materials for the purpose of advertising BWIB on campus
 Publicizes all club events per the directions of the Executive Board and obtains permission
from appropriate authorities for publicity efforts.
 Creates online marketing materials such as Facebook events and images
 Photographs and documents club events
Vice President of Member Relations
 Oversees Internal Relations committee
 Arranges an internal mentorship program in which upperclassmen members of Berkeley
Women in Business mentor lowerclassmen members





Administers evaluations of the club and polls in order to gain feedback
Creates club branded attire
Organizes club socials and community service events throughout the year
Plans the end of the year banquet and end of Fall semester dinner
Organize the semester training retreat as well as the all-committee member retreat
Vice President of University Relations
 Oversees University Relations committee
 Maintains contact with Haas Graduate School of Business “Women in Leadership” club, as
well as other Haas-sponsored and Haas-affiliated organizations at the undergraduate and
graduate level
 Petitions Haas School of Business Association (HBSA) for club affiliation/ sponsorship and
attends the Director’s Advisory Council (DAC) meetings
 Submits event descriptions to include in UGBA Weekly
 Signs the club up for Calapalooza, Cal Day, and Career Fair events
 Collaborates with other student organizations on campus
Administrative Coordinator
 Takes minutes at all officer meetings
 Creates sign-in sheets for every event for members to sign into
 Maintains club email listserv
 Creates and manages historical records of club events and contacts
 Creates and distributes weekly Berkeley Women in Business newsletter
 Secures room reservations and ensures all club events abide by Office of the Registrar Room
