Vocabulary Instructions
1. Purchase 3x5 ruled index cards.
2. On the blank side of the card, write the word and a symbol, logo, or icon
(some sort of drawing) that will help you remember the word.
3. On the ruled side, write the etymology of the word.
4. Write the part(s) of speech of the word.
5. Write the definition(s) of the word.
6. List synonyms of the word.
7. Write a sentence in which you use the word.
8. Turn in your cards on the date due, fastened together with a rubber band.
9. MUST BE HANDWRITTEN! Why? I want you to learn the words, not
copy and paste, print, and slap them on an index card.

Definition: Incapable of being subdued or overcome, unconquerable.

Sentence: Mrs. Huff’s indomitable spirit helped her survive teaching
middle school.
