Forms of Government
1. Democracy: In this form of government, the people vote on all issues and the
majority rules.
2. Republic: In this form of government, the people elect officials to make
decisions for them. Power is transferred through elections.
3. Communism: In this form of government, the government owns all property and
shares it equally with everyone.
4. Socialism: In this form of government, the government owns a few key industries
or businesses and distributes those resources equally.
5. Nazism: In this form of government, all decisions are made for the benefit of one
group.
6. Fascism: In this form of government, all decisions are made for the benefit of the
government.
7. Monarchy: In this form of government, the leader of the government rules with
absolute power, has a title, and passes on power through his or her bloodline.
8. Dictatorship: The leader in this form of government has absolute power.
9. Theocracy: This form of government is ruled by the state religion.
10. Militarism: This form of government is ruled by the government’s military.
11. Anarchy: A state where there is no government.
12. Oligarchy: A form of government ruled by a few people.
13. Aristocracy: A form of government ruled by the wealthy.
14. Matriarchy: A form of government ruled by women.
15. Patriarchy: A form of government ruled by men.
16. Tribalism: A form of government ruled by a family or families.
17. Diarchy: A form of government ruled by two persons.
