So, what is a CMA?
CMA stands for Certified Management Accountant. A CMA is a strategic financial management
professional who combines business acumen and accounting knowledge with professional management
skills to provide leadership, innovation, and an integrating perspective to organizational decision-making.
CMAs apply advanced management practices in a wide array of business functions, including strategic
planning, sales and marketing, information technology, human resources, finance, and operations. CMAs
hold a wide variety of positions. Whether a Department Manager or the President of a company, a CMA
is a valued member of the organizational decision-making team. CMAs work in virtually every sector of
the economy. Companies, big and small, hire CMAs at all levels and across all functional areas.
