April 22, 2015
The General Council meeting was called to order by President Libby Shannon at 4:00 pm at the Union
Club. The roll was called by Vice President of Administration, Bailey West.

a. FSL Night at the Springfield Cardinals Sunday at 2pm. SIGN UP SHEETS DUE THURSDAY
IN MY MAILBOX BY 4pm. Money due in the lockbox at the same time. Tickets will be
distributed Friday to chapters.
b. Paint the Run is on Saturday, April 25th at McBride Elementary School (5005 S. Farm Road
135, Springfield, MO 65810). The race begins at 9am. We will offer 4 different routes; .25 mile,
.50 mile, 1 mile and 1.5 miles. For those working package pick-up, this will be held at Bass Pro
Shops (1935 S. Campbell, Springfield, MO 65807) outside the main entrance (which is the
entrance facing south Campbell street) on Friday, April 24.

c. The WIS Odyssey of the Mind team is raising money to get to the World Finals of the Odyssey
of the Mind competition at the University of Michigan. The carnival will be held at the Willard
Intermediate School in Willard Missouri, outside, on Saturday, April 25th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00
p.m.

a. Donuts for Deans List will be April 27th and 28th from 9am-12pm. Hurts Donuts will be
provided! Located outside Glass Hall and the PSU. This year to receive your donut you must
submit your ticket at one of the two tables. I've given the packets to the delegates to pass onto
their president or Academics chair. PLEASE make sure these are handed out to your
members before Monday 4/27.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

AXΩ: We are excited to announce that we are excited to initiate our New Members this weekend
as well ask enjoy time with our dads for Dad’s weekend. Thank you to everyone who came to Field
Day!

AΔΠ: Movie Night with Soccer Boys tonight, Spring Retreat at Skateland this Saturday
c.
AΣA: Alpha Sigma Alpha had a great formal and sisterhood retreat over the weekend.
d.
ΔZ: Greek Tug is at 3:00 on Friday. Teams can still sign up at the house $30 per team.
e.
ΓΦB: We had a great time at Formal and we are looking forward to Mom's Day on Saturday, as
well as our Wing Fling, which is next Tuesday the 28th at 6:30. $8 all you can eat wings. Eat while
watching the Cardinals or Royals game.

ΣK: This weekend we have our formal and at your meetings this week we will be handing out
boxes for recycle items for our philanthropy Inherit The Earth.
g.
ΣΣΣ: This weekend is our Dad's weekend. We are having a BBQ followed by the Springfield
Cardinals game on Saturday and are really excited to spend time with our Dads.
h.
ΞOI: Our flag football tournament has been rescheduled to this Saturday (April 25th) from 1-4pm,
the cost is $60 for a team of six. This is also our sisterhood week and have initiation this Sunday!

chapter=educational event
-Wednesday, April 22—“It Happened Here” 9pm in PSU Theater—25% of chapter=educational event, movie
about sexual assault on college campuses and how some schools try to cover it up
-Both of these events are for sexual assault awareness month!
-Friday, free bowling and food in Level 1 Game Center
-Sunday, April 26, Horrible Bosses 2 in PSU Theater at 9pm
-Everything is free and prizes at almost every event!

Phi Sigma Upsilon: Phi Sigma Upsilon initiated 61 new members on Monday. Come out to our fundraiser this
Wednesday (4/22) at Qdoba, I will be passing around the flyer that you need for Phi Sig to receive money!
 SGA: Nancy Allen from the College of Business will be launching her new book tomorrow at 7 pm in the PSU
theater, Alpha Kappa Psi will be selling Spring Vegas tshirts, chance to win free Qdoba entrees for an entire year,
and you can purchase the book and get it autographed.
 A new degree audit system is in the works.
 If you were planning on applying for a cabinet position, don't forget that those applications are due on Friday.
