CONFIRMATION OF CHAIRMAN’S ACTIONS TAKEN 20TH JULY 2005
05/01003/OUT
Applicant:
Darren Lloyd
Proposal:
Erection of a dwelling
Location:
107 Warwick Road, Broughton Astley, Leicestershire LE9 6SA
Resolved:
That the Parish Council makes the following comment; having
carried out an evening site visit we are concerned about the
parking situation in this area. This additional dwelling will
exacerbate the problem. We query whether there is room for
an additional dwelling on the site and question whether this
proposal will exceed the regulations for the number of houses
per hectare. If proposal is approved the new dwelling should
be in keeping of the style and size of existing houses. Request
Planning Officer carries out site visit.
Applicant:
Location:
Proposal:
Resolved:
Fellas Takeaway
Main Street Broughton Astley
New Premises Licence changing opening hours to 4.00pm to
1.00am.
That the Parish Council objects to this proposal on the
following grounds:Prevention of Crime and Disorder
The part of the village in which Fellas Takeaway is located has
been the scene of anti-social behaviour on a regular basis over the
last few years. The Parish Council has worked with the Police and
other local agencies to prevent this by removing anything,
1
including public seating, which could act as a focus for gatherings
of large groups of people. These efforts will be undermined if this
application is approved because Fellas Takeaway will become an
attraction to such groups.
Public Safety
The District Council is already working with Fellas Takeaway to
tackle the litter problems associated with the business because of
the serious public health issues it creates. Rats and other vermin
are already a problem in the area and longer opening hours will
only exacerbate these problems.
Prevention of Public Nuisance
There is a great deal of residential property in the vicinity of Fellas
Takeaway. Local residents are used to noisy groups of people
leaving the public houses in the area at closing time, but at present
they disperse in a relatively short period. If this application is
approved it will inevitably result in people lingering in the Village
Centre and disturbing residents for a much longer period than at
present.
