We ask that you please help us keep our parish family
prayer list updated. When we receive a prayer request, the
name of the individual in need of our prayers will be
printed here in the bulletin for 1 month. If we are not
informed that it is desired they stay on this list longer,
their name will be removed.

Braus, Mary Cook, Don Heise, Charlene Bostyan,
Clark Jandt, Marian Wosepka, Marilyn Carlson,
Corey Berger, Jim Schulte, Megan Schaefer, Ed
Wojahn, Tesla Dietz, Kinsley Rae Noll, Sherry
Munson, Dan Buchholz, and Jim Berg.
 For the deceased Robert Johnson, a St. John’s
parishioner; and for the deceased Dean Reiderer,
brother of Gary Reiderer, Barb Stockwell, and Jean
Hardy. May they rest in peace and their families be
granted comfort.
The Fulfillment of All Desire….
Our next men’s group meeting will be Thursday,
January 22, 2015 from 6:30 to 7:30 am. We will be
covering Chapter 4: The Biblical Overview of the
Saints in the text beginning on page 47 and the
corresponding pages in the Study Guide. All
men are invited! Coffee will be provided! It is inspiring
to me to see the number of men who are coming to be
enriched in their faith journeys!
SYMBOLON - Catholic study program…. Our next class
on the Catholic faith will be held on Sunday, January 18,
2015 at St. John’s. This is not just for those who are new to
the Catholic faith, but for anyone who desires a deeper
understanding of the Catholic faith. The schedule is as
follows:
1:00 PM - The Story of Salvation: Creation, Fall and
Redemption
2:30 PM - Who is Jesus?: Just a Good Man or Lord of our
Lives?
"It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is
waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He
is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who
provoked you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you
settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the
masks of a false life; it is He who reads in your heart your
most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle." St. John Paul II, August 19, 2000 at World Youth Day in
Rome
A New Year’s Gift for Each of You
Fr. Dan is giving a New Year’s Gift to each family of our
parishes. It is a DVD titled “Mary.” Why do Catholics
focus so much on Mary? Of all the teachings of the
Catholic Church, those that are among the most
misunderstood tend to center on Mary. Now, learn what
Catholics really believe about Mary…and why. Please take
an extra copy(s) if you would like to give to family and
friends.
*this episode is taken from Symbolon: The Catholic Faith
Explained and is about 36 minutes in length.

Pro-life Words from Hollywood
“Indeed the tragedy of abortion haunts women from all
walks of life. Abortion advocates are spending millions to
package their tired rhetoric and half-truths in cutting-edge
advertising campaigns targeted to young women... The early
feminists were pro-life. And really, abortion is a huge
disservice to women, and it hasn't been presented that
way." -- Emmy winning actress, Patricia Heaton, from
