When Plan A Doesn’t Work
Elijah prayed for rain. Not a cloud in sight. He
prayed again. Nothing. Six times he prayed. Six
times there was no response.
(Time to implement plan B.) This is how it went:
if prayer doesn’t work after six times, try seven.
Israel got wet.
Remember Elijah and pray up a storm!!!!

“THE EYE OF PEACE”
Welcome, Visitors!
Thank you for coming to worship with us today. You
are our honored guests. We are a Bible church with
Bible aims relying on God’s word as our only authority
We invite you to join us in worshipping through:
o singing (Eph 5:19)
o praying (I Tim 2:1-2)
o studying (II Tim 4:2 )
o giving (I Cor 16:2)
o remembering our Lord’s sacrifice
through communion (Acts 20:7).
We want to have a record of your visit. Please
complete the visitor’s card that is in the pew before you
and place it in the collection basket or hand it to one of
our members.
If we can be of service to you, in any way, please let
us know. And please visit with us again soon. We look
forward to seeing you.
Ladies
Remember to mark your calendars for this coming
Saturday, August 1st---to meet for breakfast at 9:00am,
at the Old Country Buffett on Prince William Parkway.
What a blessing it is to gather and share love and
friendship with sisters in Christ.
Note: The elders request that all cell phones, and other
electronic devices, be turned off during Bible classes and
worship services.
For Our Prayers-July 26, 2009
Peace is something that most desire but don’t
seem to always find. Why is such a small word
“peace” so hard to obtain by many in the world?
When things seem to be going in all different
directions and we feel all is lost, we may ask
where is my peace to be found? Peace is
sometimes found in the oddest places.
In my life I have been in a few hurricanes. A
hurricane is a storm with cyclonic winds that
exceed 74 MPH. Rain, thunder, and lighting
usually accompanies the winds. Hurricanes can
be fierce storms with relentless pounding winds
that continue hour after hour. But a very
fascinating thing about a hurricane is it’s “eye”; a
place of perfect calm in the eye, only peace is to
be found. It is interesting to think that smack dab
in the middle of this horrific storm you can find
peace.
Brethren, when we feel the storms of life are just
crashing down upon us there is a place for peace
to be found. If we would have Jesus to be our
center our “eye” we would find that peace, that
perfect calm. “For He Himself is our peace, who
has made both one and has broken down the
middle wall of separation, having abolished in His
flesh the enmity, that is, the law of
commandments contained in ordinances, so as to
create in Himself one new man from the two, thus
making peace” (Ephesians 2:14-15). True peace
can only be found in Christ. When things get
rough seek Christ, for He is our peace.
