The Friend Finder
Welcome, Visitors!
Thank you for coming to worship with us today. You
are our honored guests. We are a Bible church with
Bible aims relying on God’s word as our only authority
We invite you to join us in worshipping through:
o singing (Eph 5:19)
o praying (I Tim 2:1-2)
o studying (II Tim 4:2 )
o giving (I Cor 16:2)
o remembering our Lord’s sacrifice
through communion (Acts 20:7).
We want to have a record of your visit. Please
complete the visitor’s card that is in the pew before you
and place it in the collection basket or hand it to one of
our members.
If we can be of service to you, in any way, please let
us know. And please visit with us again soon. We look
forward to seeing you.
It Is A Fact
Take a leaf from a branch, lay it carefully aside and
watch! Slowly the color fades, the leaf goes limp, curls
up, and dies!
Take a fish out of a lake, lay it carefully on the sand
and watch! Frantically it twists, struggles, gradually
weakens, and then quivers and dies!
Take a Christian away from the fellowship and
worship of the church, let him remain at home on
the Lord's Day, and watch! Gradually he will stop
praying, miss the Lord's Supper, and engage
in questionable activities that keep him from
assembling with the saints. Soon he will say
there are too many hypocrites in the church,
the church is always asking for money, and then,
finally, he will take his stand against Christianity, and
die!

Who could ever put a price on friendship? When I
think of friends I think of the commercials that use the
word “priceless.” How great it is to find a friend and keep
that friend. Friends are a comfort for all times in life and
they will do just about anything for you. Jesus spoke of His
relationship with His friends with this statement: “Greater
love has no man than this, than to lay down one’s life for
his friends” (John 15:13).
Some may ask the question, is it difficult to make
friends? Some will tell you yes it is, in fact it is almost
impossible. While others will say it takes some time but it
can be done. I have heard people say that it takes years to
make a friend. One has to go thru all the lengthy
introductions, the dreadful background check (ha ha), and
the time consuming meetings to get to know one another
before you can truly be called friends. Brethren, has it truly
become this difficult, and this tedious to make a friend?
Let me tell you a story of the “Friend Finder.” A
new family moved into the community. The man of the
house had been mowing his yard until his riding mower
broke down. After fixing it he could not get it back
together. He had already spent two hours on the mower
and was about to give up, when suddenly one of his new
neighbors appeared with a handful of tools. “Can I be of
any help?” he asked. In twenty minutes the neighbor had
the mower working beautifully. “Thanks a million,” the
now happy newcomer said. “And say what do you make
with such nice tools?” asked the newcomer. “Mostly
friends,” The neighbor smiled. “I’m available anytime.”
Can it truly be that easy? Sure it can, all we need is
a smile and a serving attitude. For those two qualities
together will go a long way.
