Course Description:
This course is an independent study course in which the coursework is completed on the computer (on-line). All coursework must be
completed by the end of the semester in order to receive a passing grade. Students may work on lessons from any computer that has
internet access.

Lessons (30%)
Within each unit are numerous lessons. Students will be expected to
 Read and take notes from each lesson
 Complete review questions at the end of each lesson with a minimal score of 70%
 Repeat the lesson when a score of less than 70% is achieved. After 10 attempts, lesson is blocked and notify teacher.
Quizzes (15%)
After 3-4 lessons have been completed, students will be assigned a quiz to review the lessons.
Students will be expected to:
 Utilize the notes taken during each lesson to answer the quiz questions.
 Repeat the quiz when a score of less than 70% is achieved. After 5 attempts, quiz is blocked and must notify teacher.
Notebook/Projects (10% each)
Notebooks are required for each student. Students are expected to:
 Take notes each day on the lessons (vocabulary words and key terms & concepts)
 Student may use the notes for the module test and quizzes.
 Within the notebook the student will maintain proper note taking format (Cornell notes!)
You are not allowed to copy and paste notes from the lesson into a word document. All notes must be handwritten.
 The notebook must be turned in to teacher at the end of semester to receive a course grade.
Projects are assigned throughout each unit. Students are expected to:
 Complete and submit the projects assigned.
 All projects must be complete prior to taking a test.
 If there are any questions or concerns about projects, communicate with teacher via email.
Tests (35%)
Tests are assigned at the end of each unit and upon completion of the project. The tests are blocked and the teacher must unblock the
tests. To have a test unblocked student must email teacher, and teacher will unblocked and their earliest convenience. I check my
email daily (they come straight to my phone)…if at home and by a computer I may get on and unblock a test…otherwise all
unblocking will be done during 5th and 6th period school days. It will be done as I get to it.
